I'm looking to go a little faster without doing a converter change. I've gone 11.50 with a te44 I have ported irons with a rjc fmic 3000 stall PTC nlu 60lb inj. I'm looking to go 11.0 without any compressor surge

11.50 is not maximizing the 44 unless the car is heavy,60ft is soft, converter too loose up top, or tune isn't pushed.without timeslip info its tough to say where the car could improve, but the compressor surge is an area where you probably would have to upgrade to get rid of.

Need a lot more info Russ. The 11.50 pass. Give us all the info from the pass. Meaning that you might have cut a killer 60' but are not gaining much from 1/8 to 1/4...or you cut a 2.2 60' and really streamed once you got out of the hole.

Also need to know what boost that was at?

I know my ptc nl 3000 stall was great with the pt54 and even better with my 6266. Although those two turbos are very similar.

I'm at work but I'll check when I get the slip I'm def changing turbos I hate this compressor surge

I had a lot of fun in that range with a 60-1

I doubt you have any surge at WOT but may have it with minimal throttle angles. You need to go up in turbine if you want to get rid of the part throttle surge. As already mentioned if that's not a 9.5" PTC you will blow through it and never be able to get the most out of a 44. I agree with kid. 60-1 with a 65mm ex wheel or an MFS 62 compressor with a 65mm ex wheel. You will need a lot of wastegate bypass with both if you plan on trapping under 120mph.

Get a ported housing if all you want to do is get rid of surge. TE44 is a pretty small turbo and most likely a bigger turbo will be worse. It'll just surge at a higher boost level which is even worse than what you are most likely experiencing now. Are you running alky?

60ft 1.66
330 1.669
1/8 7.35
Mph 91.83
1000 9.674
1/4 11.63
Mph 115

I can't find the 11.53 one I know it was at 117 mph I didn't really say what my combo is I have a rebuilt 109 with 212/212 roller cam merit ported irons Harland sharp rollers fmic te 44 with a extreme auto stage 2 and alky I still have the sway bar hooked up no weight reductions with ac and et streets on stock wheels

I have a ptc 9.5 nlu 3000 stall The most boost I can achieve is 22 23 lbs with the boost controller maxed out the surge is between 10 and 15 lbs I just drive a decent amount on the street and don't want to have to go full throttle to not have surge

With alky, there is nothing you can do about the surge between 10-15psi with a TE44 turbo. Turn the alky off, and it won't do it, but you'll be limited to 15 or so psi. But the surge will be gone. It's not hard to drive around that boost range still without needing to floor it all the time. I'm diagnosing an issue right now and was surprised how well my car ran without alky at 14psi.

that's alot of cam for the 44,what ex housing is on the turbo now?either way your running a 9 sec cam with an 11 sec turbo, going with a bigger comp and turbine will complement the 212/212 cam and heads I don't believe the 44 is a good match on that kind of build.

I already had the turbo and got a good deal on the long block so I just put it on the car it was in ran in the tens I think im gonna go with a billet 6262
