Well its rebuild decision time. I have to rebuild my motor now because of a spun main bearing. see this linkfor that story http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174382

Do I A: Have the crank turned .020 on the mains and polished on the rods. rering the block and keep the .040 over TRW's, keep my BHJ balncer and JW flywheel and have it line bored again.........

..... or B: get my standard bore block, bore it .020, get some Diamond 9:1 pistons, total seal rings, Eagle crank, sell my externally balanced damper for an internally balanced one, do the same with flywheel, trasfer my billet caps and girdle to this block. and have the rotating assembly balanced

this is basically a TSM car. pt-70, ported GN1's(249cfm int./219cfm ex.) by Todd MacKenzie, 224/224 .560 lift hyd roller. 1.6 t&d's, 70mm TB, N code convertor. ATR rods.

tell me what you guys think. thanks, jeremy

I'd do choice A

Is the crank already out? Has it been Measured? You sure you can cut it .020 and put it back together with new rings and berings?

If the answers are yes, "Git-r-Done". Racing season is just around the corner and you, my friend are not ready.

Now, if you just want to drag your feet, go with b or some other build. No sense in getting it back together and actually driving and racing it. Oh wait thats what you bought it for. Come on now get out in that garage. It doesn't fix itself.

You know I'm just givin' you 'the business'.
Good Luck

Rich

yeah but i am afraid that the crank will stand a greater chance of breaking. i sure would hate to go through all that trouble and have a questionable crank break on me. decisions, decisions. jeremy
