Found a older hot air regal, has single headlights, i think its pre 81???

Did they come with a 7.5 rear or the 8.5 rear?
TIA

1984 was the first year for the 8.5 in the G-body. If the Regal has single headlamps it will have the 7.5".

7.5 rear has "fangs" on the lower corners and is "flat" across the bottom of the cover.
8.5 has squared off "ears" on the lower corners and is round across the bottom.

You should know this Bryan. I have lost all confidence in you.. ;)

Did the single headlight cars come with aluminum core supports???
Its a regal, Its a longshot right? Most came in export G.P.'s right?

Trying to justify purchasing a cheeeeeeap 78-79 turbo regal, but cant find anything worth a damn on it that i could use.... sight unseen......

TIA

Aluminum core supports can be found in all of the 1978-80 A(G)-body cars. In everything BUT Chevrolet. Easily indentified by the letter "A" stamped into the upper right corner of the support. BTW I have never found the aluminum support on a turbo car for some reason. Another easy way to ID one is they dont rust. Probally the only thing good on that car is the crankshaft ASSuming the motor isn't toast.

Thank you sir, i will use a magnet

Is the crank the same, or is it different? The rods are lighter and smaller diameter right?

All turbo cranks are the same. The early rods are a little different. The rods aren't worth anything IMO when you can get the better rods out of any 84-87 NA motor.
