which one is the best drect scan, turbolink,or the scanmaster. i was looking at the turbolink and it looked like it needed extra parts taht wern't included in the basic kit(map bar and a boost harness) which one do you guys think would be the best investment

Everyone has their own preference, so here's mine after using all 3.

Scanmaster is awesome for daily driving and basic tuning. I am glad I have it and wouldn't do without it. I have it up by my A-pillar next to my boost gauge so I can see what's going on whenever I lay into it on the street.

Turbolink w/boost sensing was the first scantool I ever had and it worked great. I loved the boost sensing option, easily portable and the recording feature for the track. Downside is that it is limited to the speed of the ALDL for data. IMO there wasn't enough info for me once my car got into the 11's.

Directscan transmits data @ 18 frames/second and gives you a mind-numbing amount of data to look at. Downsides are, not easily portable, no boost sensing, and the hookup at the ECM is sometimes prone to gremlins that leave you scratching your head. Other than that it is a great scantool, especially when you want as much info as possible at the track.

OTC Monitor 4000E is a good scan tool and I know several guys using it that are in the 10's (one guy runs low 10's).... The Scanmaster is the best and easiest to understand IMHO!

My opinion is that everyone should have at least a scanmaster in their car. I also have DirectScan and a digital handheld EGT gauge mounted on top of the radio pod. Happy with both... especially the EGT.

The new version of Tlink has the same fast rate as SM with the extender chip :)

I agree. I don't like using the stock O2 for tuning but it's better than nothing. I use an SMC EGT gauge as well. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a scantool geek :D ;)

directscan is awsome. never seen turbolink but i heard that its a great tool also.:D

Scanmaster for daily duties

Direct scan for track duties

EGT for tuning the alky
