Lonnie Diers has it, but..............

I bought a trans w/ brake from lonnie, I didn't install it until recently .
after install, I found that reverse and the brake did not work.
after a few calls he told me to send him the trans, and he would take care of it.
In the effort to save him a few $$ on shipping, I had the trans inspected and found everything ok EXCEPT the Valve body/ trans brake.
I emailed him to let him know what I found, and that I could just send him the VB instead of the whole trans, he agreed.
that was Feb 9th,2011
on Feb 25th I emailed asking if he'd found anything, he replied, no, and he would send another VB out on Monday-the 28th.
On monday march 8th I again emailed asking if he had sent it, as I did not recieve anything, his reply.."yes, had a new one dropped shipped"
I have email several time since then, with no response,
I have called and left messages, with no reply.
today is March 26th, its been 6 and 1/2 weeks since I sent the valve body. with nothing to show for it, Now I'm glad I didn't send the trans as it looks like I would be out the entire trans instead of just the VB/brake.

My suggestion. think long and hard before you purchase anything from Lonnie Diers, as his attitude is"I don't care, I have your money"

I guess I'll just call a reputable vendor and order a new VB/brake.

If anyone can speak with mr extreme automatics, and suggest he settle up. I'd appreciate it.
I have all the emails and can post if anyone is interested.

Lonnie also owes Gene Cassidy a fully built 200-4R, it's been on going for two years.

Hi Lee,
I ordered your VB from Coan drop shipped to your address @ 22947 Lava Way. Walker at Coan can confirm it was paid for and shipped. Its saturday have no way to call for tracking. Will be glad to post tracking n monday. I am not sure where you are calling but you can call me at the shop I am here all day.

when did you order it?

Called for VB around the 5th or so asked to drop ship I was told when it was done they would send it right out. I did not follow up that's my fault. My CC was charged so I know its shipped. Please PM phone number and will call you on Monday with tracking about 12 my time I think that's 8 your time.

Joe please dont post in threads like this. It only brings them to the top. Someone will think I owe you something not knowing we are friends.

I have one guy posting for a friend with no clue and the other guy forgot to post he bought the trans years ago. VB has been shipped and the other fella will hear from me tomorrow. I would like for it to stop here.

Can't say I haven't heard this situation before... its a shame. I'm sure he'll settle up with you eventually though, it just might be a while till your off the back burner.

Well Lee I guess a post in Feedback was not good enough. The moderators seem to allow anything these days to be posted in the tech section so guess best to post right here. I really wanted to let this go as I just try to never have confrontation with a customer. Unfortunately in this case I cant do it.

You purchased this trans from me over 2 years ago. I am thinking maybe closer to 3. It was before Aug. of 09 when I went to computer from a spread sheet. This fact you conveniently left out of your post obvously to make it seem more recent. Good Job. You install the trans in Jan. 2011. You contact me and say the transmission transbrake does not work and car wont back up. I e-mail you for a phone number and call you over the weekend from my home. You explained problem I did not ask you any questions. I said if you just installed it and had a problem send it back and I would make it right. I also said I would pay shipping. There was never any talk of taking the transmission to someone else. You contact me a few days later say you had someone else take the transmission apart (to save me money) and they tell you the transmission is fine cant find anything wrong with my work that the problem must be in the VB. The one part manufactured by someone else that I take out of a box and install. You sent it to me to see if I could find a problem. I receive and take a few minutes to look it over and decided to send back to the company who built it. They call me back and tell me the VB is over 90 days old I will need to pay if I want repaired. I tell them it was unused for 2 years and was not right to begin with. They reiterated there was a limited 90 day warranty no exceptions. I said drop it in the trash and called Coan for replacement. I take responsibilty for not following up on the delivery of the VB. I ordered the brake. They charged me for the brake. They say brake has been shipped.

I read your post and respond in feedback section. Decide its not worth hashing out here on the net. Supply the tracking info let it die and move on was my thinking. I come to the tech section and once again find a post on the same thing posted in the feedback section. This time for what ever reason your accusations just really rubbed me the wrong way.

1) Transmission warranty is one year from the date you receive it.
2) No vendor pays shipping for any reason including warranty.
3) No vendor ever pays for parts or repairs when they did not receive the transmission back to inspect failure or complaint.
4) No builder ever pays for warranty of a part they purchased from a vendor well out of the vendors warranty.

Your Exact words.

“My suggestion. think long and hard before you purchase anything from Lonnie Diers, as his attitude is"I don't care, I have your money"

WOW!!!!!!!! If I did not care “ I had your money” I could have used any of the reasons listed above to simply say sorry its out of warranty cant help. You were told No questions asked “I will take care of it” Call you from e-mail on the weekend during my time off. I dont care? Were you kidding?

"I guess I'll just call a reputable vendor and order a new VB/brake.”

WOW!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Not Reputable? Are you really serious? I will follow threw on the tracking info and I am done with it. I am sorry you feel ripped off and mistreated. I sure hope the next place I deal with treats me the same way. GM sure didn't when I explained the miles on my car were well under 36,000 when the warranty expired after 3 years.

No thanks Lonnie, I've been to your shop before and know how it goes. I never said you didnt do great work, or that you were a bad mechanic or were a horrible guy... just implied that you have a track record of not following through on things in a timely manner.
