ANYONE USING THE RJC JASON CRAMES SPECILA SPECS ON THEIR CONVERTOR AND IF SO WHAT COMBO ARE YOU USING? MINE IS OUT BEING RESTALLED TO HIS SPECS A N TRIM (WHATEVER THAT IS) BUT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE WHAT I NEED FOR MY COMBO BELOW. MY TOP END IS GOOD BUT 60" SUCKS AND TIRES BREAK ABOUT 26/2700 RPM AT ABOUT 8 PNDS BOOST.:(

I very intrested in learning what you are talking about? I have a Art Carr non lock up convertor that I need to get restalled and my combo is simular to yours. How much is it costing you to get yours restalled and who is doing it? My car has sorry 60's also, and it doesnt start making power until you get going on the top end of the track.:(

I need to get my Art Carr non lock up convertor restalled who should I have do it and how much am I looking at spending? I need this thing to get my car going on the low end, plus my turbo is a little slow spooling. see combo below. Thanks

if you need to get the car going downstairs and the turbo is slow to spool you are not going to find a happy medium.one corrective action will cancel out the other.how big is the turbo?

70mm q trim with 85 exhaust housing. I really what the car to make more low end power. I need better 60's I think the convertor is suppose to be a 3400 stall but I was wanting to go to a 3800 stall, what do you think? I rarely drive on the street I have only put 3000 miles on the car in 3 years and I do no highway driving. I want that tire spinning low end power. I got this convertor off the board about 2 years ago and I would like to get it built right for this car. I think with that exhaust housing I will be able to get plenty of mph out of the car. Please help the car is a dog off the line.

CONVERTOR

MY CONVERTOR IS A A/C N/LU 9" WITH 2800-3200 STALL, ART CARR IN CA WAS GOING TO RESTALL IT FOR 150. HE CALLED ME TODAY AND STATED IT WASNT HIS ART CARR BUT THE ONE IN TX.

HE GUARANTEED ME AT LEAST 4 TENTHS WITH HIS JASON CRAMER N TRIM CONVERTOR (RACING JASON RJC SPECS) AND MORE MPH THAN MY CURRENT TIME OF 188/182 60" AND 11.2 122/123 1/4.

I AM GOING TO BE SELLING MY 16930 SOON AND PURCHASING THIS NEW RJC CONVERTOR AS SOON AS HE SHIPS IT BACK TO ME.

THE 16930 WORKED GREAT WITH THE TE44 AND STOCK HEAS,INTAKE, AND 009'S WITH A 158" BEST. ONLY USED TWO SEASONS WITH LESS THAN TWENTY RUNS AND NO STREET TIME.

PROBABLY LET GO FOR ABOUT 400 NEW COST 699 IN 8/03.
IF THIS DOESNT WORK GOING TO A SMALLER WEBBER CAM 206/206 TO REGAIN MY 60" I'LL LET YOU KNOW.

I BELIEVE YOUR CONVERTOR HAS A LIL TOO MUCH STALL, THE N TRIM IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT 3400-3600 STALL.

CONVERTOR

ALSO IF YOUR CONVERTOR IS METRIC IT WAS DONE BY THE ART CARR IN TX, NOT CA. I FOUND OUT AFTER WAISTING $40 IN SHIPPING OUT And 25 to have it sent back to me

DITTO

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH A 2800-3000 STALL, I AM TRYING A 3200-3400 STALL NEXT. IF THIS DOESNT WORK WILL A 63 HOUSING HELP MY 60" AND STILL GO MID TENS?

OR SHOULD I GET A SMALLER CAM, CURENT COMBO BELOW

I would keep the combo you have, I have the same cam as you and I have had 60's of 1.5 with that cam but with a different convertor. I think we both just need a good convertor. I have also been told for my combo do not change to the .63 housing from the .85. I have been told by several people that my problem is my convertor.

If your converter is a 3400 stall, it is way too low for a GTQ-70. It will need to flash close to 5000 RPM. We use an Art Carr converter that is made for that turbo.

My suggestion is to call AC and discuss the re-stall with them. They have what they call an "N" stall which should work for you.

send it in .we can get it done for you thru pro torque, hes done several of those already for us.

Here is what I have found after about 100 different converters on many different cars.

First, the stall RPM is an arbitrary number which is a good guess of how a converter will perform in a given application. The higher the HP and the higher the stall, this becomes more critical.

One 9 sec. car took 6 converter changes before we got it right. Just did a Mopar change, and the 10 sec. car picked up .5 in the 1/4 mile.

My 3800-4000 stall will flash to 5000 on a hard launch. Since stall is closely related to available HP, a car may need 2 or 3 different converters depending on track elvation, track surface and other variables.

In your case, the BB-66 "should" work with a 32-3400 stall. I would start higher, maybe 36-3800? But since I am not tuning the car, nor seen it run, could be different? Most race guys, turbo or not, usually go through 3-4 converter changes before finding the optimum converter for their specific set up.

My advise is get your converter from a known, reputible source that will be will to do the stall changes at a reasonable cost. Sometimes it if easier, and cheaper, to buy 2 coverters for the swaps until it is optimum.

It ain't cheap to race and be competitive!:D

thnx

i appreciate that, i am going to try this poston for now and send or send my art carr back for restall. i believe it came from the one in tx, if not i need to know who will restall it. if not ill buy the n trim from ca, this will be the second convertor bought.

know anyone in nj to tune my car to right specs?

When my car was 60 footing better I had a 9x11 3600rpm stall but I did not like that convertor either, my car still had plenty of power left in it, so I got this art carr non lock up but the guy I got it from sad it was in better shape that it acutally is. The car runs worst with it so I need to get it stall for my combo.

THNX,I BETTER HAVE THE ART CARR RESTALLED, WHEN I GET IT BACK. IT WORKED GREAT WITH THE OTHER COMBO. GUESS I'LL STICK WITH IT, IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT....
