Ty

Are u gonna go to Atlantis? Or the other side?

I do not know anything about it, just starting to check it out. Hoping some of you guys can lead me in the right direction:biggrin:

Ty, If you are taking the kids Atlantis is great.

If it's just you and momma I like to find out where everyone goes and then find somewhere else....

St. Martin ect...

I haven't been to Nassau since 1989 I think. We went to the Crystal Palace and stayed in a room there. It was REALLY nice. I do remember that. There was a casino, restaurants and all kinds of stuff right at the hotel. The wife and I are planning on taking a cruise from Orlando over to Nassau in a couple year, here, for our anniversary.

Went to Nassau a few years ago and was appalled. The second you leave the safety of the docks and the cruise ship everyone is trying to shake you down for money. St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands) is a lot cleaner and just plain better place to visit.

Are you taking the rug rats?
I dont think so .

Atlantis is the place to go but a little pricey. Prices have dropped tho quite a bit. I have not gone there but my buddy goes every year with his family and loves it. Everything u need is right there.

Almost all the frequented places are tourist traps.
The poor are dirt poor, leave the wife's rings at home and take a cheap camera, wallet in front pocket.

The more a resort can keep you on the plantation the more money they make.

Any of the Lesser Antilles are better. More secluded better service.

Look up Hedonism in Jamaica..........
The only problem is the bartender can stir your drink with out a swizzle stick....

I took a cruise to Nassau this spring. Got accosted 3 times in about 10 minutes after I left the ship with guys wanting to sell me dope, or "anything I needed". Dirty, nasty and generally unsafe. Get onto Atlantis property and it's nice, but watch yourself out in the streets.

Personally if I were looking for a more romantic getaway with the wife, I would go to Anguilla, or perhaps Cayman.

Thanks guys, off to search the Cayman's.

I guess I dont care what he swizzles my drink with as long as it isnt his **** lol

The Cayman's are wonderful, and for being in the carribbean, SAFE. We go every year. Check out the Reef Resort. It is on the quieter east side of the island, away from the main harbor. If you want to go into town and check out the shops and restaurants, you can, it's about a 1/2 hour ride. Otherwise you have peace and tranquility, and can swim from the beach in front of the resort out to the reef to go snorkeling. Hard to beat.

No problem. Yep, that's it. It's the real deal.

There are only two resorts on that side of the island. Very quiet. If you go, rent a car so that you an see the rest of the island on YOUR schedule. CHeck with the girls at the front desk to see when the cruise ships WON'T be over in downtown (Georgetown). That is when you go explore the "city". But honestly, you can find everything you need right there around the Reef, groceries, brew, whatever. You don't have to leave the East End.

We've been going every fall for about 6-7 years. I can't wait to get back there.

Man take it from your buddy, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I have been 1 time and 1 time only and have NO intentions on going back... Just imagine a poor NYC with somebody trying to hustle you at every turn... If you stay at the Resort you are usually fine but DON'T LEAVE!!

Call me for further detials:wink:
