hey chuck good luck on your project, I to have had problems from CK Performance LEAKY TRANS FROM DAY ONE, THIS WAS A STAGE 2 TRANNY BUILD UP. LESS THAN 400 MILES ON TRANNY , MY FORWARD CLUTCHES ARE GONE.
CK Performance has been striving to provide the best customer service we can, from the time a customer is considering what transmission parts he needs, answering questions in regards to transmission problems, through to taking orders and processing them out the door.
While we can't be so bold as to say we are perfect (not sure if any business really could) but we are trying to get there. Thus far we have had more good sales and customers than bad ones, as most of the positive posts on the various boards that Chris is on can attest to plus the fact that CK Performance has been in business this long.
However when problems do arise we try our best to find a solution and work with the customer to get there.
Blacksabatth198 (name withheld), I recall your problem as I worked with you to find a solution earlier this year (2005) around Feb/March. At that time you had mentioned the transmission had leaked from day one. From what I recall the transmission was ordered through Poston's around mid-late 2004 (?)
We would have appreciated it more and likely would have found a quicker solution if we were notified right away of the problem and not months later as was the case.
As an aside, I personally would not have tolerated a problem for that long (and neither would most I assume) from any vendor.
Upon hearing the problem on Feb/March of this year, we opened the table to you and asked what you would like to solve this problem. At that time you had asked for a 3200 9x11 outright and the issue would be dropped. We rejected that idea because we felt it was not a proportional solution to the transmission leaking.
What we did offer is a brand new Aluminum Transmission Pan, new Hex Bolts, New filter and 12 quarts of fluid along with a signed agreement that the issue will not perpetuate (continue) in any medium whether it be phone or internet.
This agreement came about from our phone conversation where you had mentioned that "bad news travels fast" and that you would let other enthusiasts know of your experience.
The agreement was signed by both parties and is in our records at the NY location. And the parts and supplies were shipped to you.
I apologize to everyone for the long post, but felt that something needed to be said and that some facts of the story that are relevant should be known.
This post was not intended to start any controversy, but more so in reponse to the negative post previous and also to illustrate that we are truly focused on customer satisfaction to the best of our abilities while at the same time running a business that is successful.
We also we would rather spend time building transmissions and serving customers and as such we do not have the time nor the energy to tolerate any form of "bullying" of any kind.
In regards to the Forward Clutches being burnt, that is a problem that only occurs if the forward clutch area gets starved for fluid. The most likely cause of this is due to the filter not fully seated or falling off altogether both likely due to improper installation of the filter. If it was a transmission assembly/parts issue more than just the Forward Clutches would have failed.
