DAMMMMNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy right now I could practically do cartwheels down my entire sidewalk!!!!!! 3 months of being off work, trying to buy a house, planning a wedding, having to sell my Regal project because of no money, buying a ring.........it's been a long 3 freakin months. Called the shop today and the owner said he appreciate me taking the time off without leaving the shop. He said that really showed loyalty and wanted to make sure I new he appreciated it. To me most of the shops I have worked for are pretty much just about money and once they are done with you, you get laid off and sent down the road. This is a small family shop and although I may not make a ton of money, they are pretty good to work for. Most shops dont recognize the things you do for them, it means a lot to me for an owner to personally thank me and say "I want you to know I do appreciate it and I do recognize your dedication."

Man this is great! Only one problem though, Bowling Green might not happen for me again this year. I'd hate to get back to work and then tell them I'm going to be gone for a week right away.

Oh well either way, just glad to finally get my life back on track!

Congratulations!

Congrats! Good things come to good people!

Don't spoil it by taking a week off:eek::)

CONGRATS!

BEEN There.
My few months off was jan to march. got 2 months of severance pay. it was suky time of year cause it was winter. At that point i was willing to do anything rather than collect new hampshires measly unemployment for 4 weeks

I could never collect welfare or any of that free stull we give the foriegners for a looooong period of time. I would rather stay working.

Thanks a lot guys for the support not only in your words but a lof of you guys have helped me trmemndously with helping me sell parts on here. It was sad to see my whole Regal poject go but I'm very thankful I had the ability to sell the parts easily here on the board. And many of you guys have done a lot more for me during this time period, I cant thank you guy enough!

Congrats. I am very happy for you. I got laid off for three months in 2000 right after buying an engagement ring for my wife , so I know the relief you must be feeling. Good luck.

I am seeing more and more threads like this on forums ... things may FINALLY be looking on the up and up :) ---

Good luck Jeremy. Just tell him you have plans to go to BG and bring it for a couple days!! Most small shops are good with it as long as there is no pressing deadline to complete whatever job your headed to. A man has got to live a little!! Mike:cool:

Thanks Mike! Yeah I'm going to feel it out a little when I get back. Austin has been working (we work for the same shop) and says he wont miss BG for nothing! But, I'm in a little different situation. If things seem like they are still slow next week, I might just sit down with him and ask nicely! PRETTY PLEASE!!!!!!!
