Went to the Mark's Auto Parts cruise in East Granby CT Monday nite. 900 cars on a Monday nite! This is the biggest cruise around with tons of nice cars at an unreal setting. Believe it or not it is at a junkyard BUT you never see any of the junk cars. The cruise is held on a manicured lawn about 15 - 20 acres. A white fence surrounds the field and American flags are place about every 20 ft or so on the fence. Quite a sight when you drive up on it.
They have permanent concession stands with great food, plenty of picnic tables and good music with some nights a live band. If you get there early you can sit in the bleachers they have flanking the entrance on to the field.
Been going to this cruise for quite a few years and never got any recognition. Was getting ready to leave to beat the rush and one of the guys running the show sat down at the table and asked if the GN was mine. Said yes and he told me I was one of the winners that nite! Really felt good that our TR's are being recognized more and more for what they are.
900 cars and only 5 trophies were awarded to the cars and one to motorcycles. They have you pull up into a Nascar styled winners circle and talk about your car and present the trophy to you. Pretty cool.
