The police should have the authority to shoot the guy in the head right on the spot. Why waste everyone's time and money with court and jail. You know he's going to drink and drive again and probably kill someone.

You want to hear something crazy? I had this beef with a FHP Trooper that wrote me a ticket. So I punched his name into a Google search to see what crap I could find on him. I managed to turn up a massive and I mean 1000+ pages of pdf of Seminole County Floridas breathalizer calibration logs. From what I can gather when they haul you in for DUI three people do the test all over again on a more accurate analizer. I saw a few .300 and .400 numbers before I got tired of reading it. Somehow I think the penalties for driving DUI should be on a scale based on what you blow. Say for example if you blow double the .08 or .10 than it should be double the penalty. Three times the penalty,etc,etc.

I personally saw a 4.0

When I first came on the job my FTO and I got stuck doing a DUI. The girl was Native American Indian and was completely hammered. She indicated that she started drinking around noon the day before we grabbed her. At that time I worked afternoons and the arrest was towards the end of the tour. She had been drinking for well over 30hrs at that point. She was soo blind that she hit a boat load of parked cars on a side street and was gonna keep going but she tore her car up too bad. When she was given the breathalizer, nobody believed the results. I guess that high of a level is borderline death. She was clearly a pro.

I just asked a cop that dropped his squad car off for service. Here's what he told me.
.400 is not impossible. Here's a general rule of thumb for determining probable BAL.
.300 is sh*t faced. You'd have trouble crawling to your car.
.400 is unconcience(sp).
.500 is dead

Yeah I'd say at .431 you'd be so pickled that you wouldn't have to be embalmed when you hit the .500 mark.

They took him to the hospital and sedated him.

Besides the obvious charges he faces over the DUI, he also faces resisting arrest!!!???

haha, but I didnt say that.400 is impossible, 4.0 is physically impossible because at 1.0 your blood is alcohol....so unless your superman or or the god of alcohol it impossible

Back in the day when I was a deputy sheriff the best I ever had was a .452. That was the passenger. The driver was the sober one at .451. Couple mexicans driving a van didn't negotiate a corner. The driver broke his leg in an accident and didn't even know it. The doctor didn't give him any pain meds.

I stopped a guy who blew a .36. He was walking and talking fine, and it was actually a bit hard to tell he was intoxicated. He died about a year later.

Now I'm just a twig pig...got all them squirrels running around gettin high on nuts...crazy little basterds! Lucky they dont drive. :biggrin:

Same dude twice in a week. First time .431. A few days later .464 and he wasn't unconscious, he was functioning pretty well. Could actually have a conversation with him. When you see a number that high, your next move better be calling an E-squad.
