Wow, the private message limit is extremely short.

I've tried to send a private message twice already since its been back up for use and my message has been too long. It only allows 300 characters. I know for sure that the limit was way more because I sent pretty long messages. Anyhow, can someone lift the limit or increase it because I cant hardly write anything in a private message without it being too long. Thanks.
