i hear peple talk about puttting 93 or 94 octane in the tank with "a splash of xylene". does this make it like race gas? where can i find it and how much is it? ow much you got to add to make it effective? does it kill O2 sensors? thanks

Unfortunately it takes quite a bit of the stuff to REALLY raise the octane in a full tank. And it's pretty nasty stuff, but cheaper than either race gas or that storebought "octane booster".

When I use it, I get mine at Sherwin-Williams paint. 1 gal about $5.00+ If I get the 5 gal can, this store doesn't carry them, the its cheaper.

One gal xylene + 4oz Marvel Mystery Oil+3gals pump gas.

Just don't get the xylene on your paint.

I use it and love it. My GN is just a weekend warrior so I typically put 6 gallons of 91 octane and put 2 gallons of Xylene. I keep the ratio 3:1.

My fuel gauge showed 14 gallons and I put in 5 gallons of Xylene with about 5 or 6 capfuls of tranny fluid. With my mods listed I ran 20 psi and only got 0.9 degress of knock the whole run. I also was running about mid 800s on the O2 side. I'll tune her for mid to upper 700s and see what she'll do then. BTW, it hit 20 psi a few seconds after going into 3rd and pulled so hard that the front end was swaying very badly and forced me to let off. I had the biggest grin at the track when that happened. Unfortunately, some fusible links to my starter blowed during the next run, ending my night. There's always next week though.

I thought you can run 2 gallons gas, one gallon xylean 2oz of MM oil. As long as you don't go over a third of Zylean. Like 10 gallon of gas, and 5gallon of Zylean?

I have used 5 gal Xylene in a tank of gas and had good results, see sig. I calculated that mix to be about 100 octane. I use about 6 to 8 oz of MMO for the 5 gal Xylene. I ran fairly high boost for stock turbos and didn't have kr except maybe on a shift. I'm thinking I need to run race gas next time out in the quarter, but I like the Xylene and still have a good O2 sensor after last time racing
