Azz, gas, or grass, no one does work for free. With a screen name of Smoke20, I guess it's grass.;)

If he wants to help you for free, take him up on it. Good help is hard to find. Good, FREE, help is even harder to find. That is an offer worth persuing.

Wow, that Starion is wicked. I have a buddy who would dig that and do it if someone can get the owners board name, need to pick his brain on that one.

Well, I feel bad for you because you sent your GN to a GN specialist and it left in worse condition, not right IMO.

It looks like you bought it and dropped it off with a stock to rock setup and this is what comes to mind, in concern to the blown head gasket, after seeing the receipt.

They messed with the Wastegate Actuator so they had to tune the boost by adjusting the rod ( it said HD so it's the 18psi one ). This would tell me that they have to go WOT with it to see what length they need the rod to be in conjunction with what the chips boost setting is.

So, if you still have a stock pump and it spikes to say 20psi on pump gas that could be it right there, done. Then you get in it, hit it to WOT and see it smoking like Cheech and Chong and then it's a gauges fault??

The only gauge that tends to be more sensitive then the ALDL reading is the Caspers knock gauge. If you don't have a Scanmaster get one asap so you know what is going on and can slowly take care of some basic stuff on your own.

Huh, the place is called White Racing and you have a blown head gasket after them tuning your car.

Stick around here and search as much as you can and you will feel better about picking up a tool or two and working on the GN.

You got away cheap. I wouldn't have done it for that. But that's just me.

I had other work done first, when he called me to tell me it was ready he mentioned that it was leaking, i was going to do it myself, but when he told me he would do it for that price I told him to go for it. He did a trans service, hot wire kit, and crank sensor for $350, and went over the car because it was sitting for so long. Also told me I am going to need a brake accumulator and adj. fuel reg., but I am going to do them myself. I supplied the hot wire kit, but he supplied the crank sensor.

White Racing has been around for a long time and Dan's prices have always been insane. Im not going to say he doesnt know what he's doing because he's had some fast cars he's worked on but looking at what you got charged for what was done is shocking.

Good luck on getting it straightened out.

Besides the cost factor ........
While I am too young to know about "White Racing" ;) , it is plausible that they had a "newer guy" work on that car. You know, "that guy" who knows how to change a few parts and may even own a TB as well.

I would find out "what level of TB mechanic" worked on the car.
