Only thing that I see is your sump is lower than the pump. Those pumps don't like pulling fuel. I've seen a few go bad just from that. Are the correct fliters on the inlet side? If you mix the pre and post filter up that'll cause the pump to strain itself also.

No that was back when synthetic oil first came about, it used to swell seals a bit. You can switch from non to synthetic now with no problem, the formulas have changed and that problem shouldn't exist.

Meth will pull enough moisture over time to give it a yellowish tint, you should get more and dump the yellowish at that point. I've always stored meth in a metal sealable can, off the floor, and not in direct sunlight. You'd be surprised at how much more moisture is wicked into it when it's on...
