I plan on racing two classes this race season.
so, i'd like to be able to cool the trans when hot lapping, 1/4 mile.

i have a 18x18" external trans cooler upfront.
that i will put a 16" fan on.
i seem to remember something about full flow and lock-up????

Cheers!

I'd be sure to get the radiator as cool as possible so that the maximum heat transfer can occur. The factory cooler does a lot more than most think when the radiator is properly functioning. Making a second pass through a large air cooled cooler will also help. If you continue to have a problem use an evacuator to suck the oil out and pour in cold oil between round

I think using a quality fluid that can take the heat and knowing what the car will do at different temps is way less labor intensive.
I concur that the rad cooler is essential in cooling the fluid. I run mine through the rad and a bar n plate, then through a tube and fin. As I didn't feel the single aux was giving me the cooling I needed.
