Has anyone here have any issue's what so ever with fit, line up of holes and overall placement of the liner? I need to know if I am the only one like I am being told. And since I don't install these for a living I would not know if I am the only one. Please post up good or bad. Thank you.

I bought the the one for the moonroof and the hump for the over head motor is offset to the right by almost an inch but every thing else lined up fine?
I called and was told they were all made the same way.
Its up but Im not 100% happy, but then again its not a show car.

i did 2 of them one in a 86 and one a 87 both hard top i am happy with the look and the fit

I did my car that has a moonroof. i am very happy with it. Just make sure you have the right dome light for your application.

Steve (87gta-turbo),

So did yours clear the motor ok?

I just got one for the astro roof also.. will not put it in for awhile, just curious now :)

Thx

I still cant get my sunvisors to line up:mad: - The pre-drilled holes were off

Some have trouble, some don't...is there a chance that there could be 2 different suppliers ?? Anybody know 4 sure ?

I installed one for the astroroof last year after replacing astroroof weatherstrip, and overall the fit was good, had to wrestle with the visor mounts to line up correctly, but once one side lined up, the other did also. The only part that I'm not 100% happy with is; it doesn't lay flat where the coat hanger is on the passenger side, seems like there is a gap right at that area, but out of everyone that has seen the interior doesn't notice it.

As for the motor area being offset, I have not noticed, I think it matched fine, but will have to look whenever the bodyman is finished.

I just finished installing mine. I have solid roof car. Fit good. went up easy. there is a few imperfections but Im happy.......But the only thing I have yet to do is install the sunvisors. after hearing from others that the holes are off, and since i need to get new visors anyway....I have decided to not run any for now. I dont drive the car much anyway. It does look cleaner without them. i dont want to drill holes and them be off and the headliner be ruined. I also didnt install the rear coat hooks for the same reason.

No, thats why Im not 100% happy.
when i installed it I did the dome light first to get it centered and offer support.
Then I did the two coat hangers.
Then as I got to the front the visors went in the first try but the motor hits the slop and I could see it wasnt centered in the bulged area for the motor.
I mean how far can you shift it if everything else lines up?
The trim and ceiling molding went last.
Hopefully you'll have better luck.

I had bad luck with the interior on the GN, the carpet I bought was crooked and I cut the holes for the shifter before I noticed it so it was too late to send back, its not severe but like I said glad its not a show car.
The carpet on my T fit like a dream.

Men do we need any stinking instructions?

No we just install the headliners. Ok this is in every headliner box we have.
I'll just do the quick step by step procedure.
Per Acme Auto who donated the TFT headliner & the Company that we buy headliners from on pallets.
By the way they are also the company that spent 18 months with us producing a Moon roof headliner for a very small market. We sent them two low mileage units & they bent ove backwards to get it 100%.
Shipping us test units at their expense. They didn't have to. No the motor should not be off center of the step down in the moon roof.

Per ACME instructions letters h-k
re-installing:
Line up sunvisor mount cut outs & replace sunvisor mounting Brackets. DO NOT COMPLETELY TIGHTEN SCREWS.
Replace Panel above rear window then tighten sunvisor brackets.
Replace trim.
Thread wires for over head electrical through cut outs & re-attach plastic assemblies Re-connect wires & install bulb.
Re-install dome light housing

Before this is a long paragraph that states lay your old headliner on the new & make marks to ensure the dome light is correctly laid out in the new area. There are different locations depending on Gbodies.
I normally on a moon roof or a hard top headliner cut out the dome light first & install that loose. Just makes it alot easier when doing yourself.
On the visors poke a nail through the mounting holes.
Take a look at your old headliner to see which way the visors were facing.
Make your visor cut outs before you install.

Billy if one of our headliners sagged let me know they have a life time warranty against that. There is no problem removing & installing with a cage. Not as easy as with out but can be done.

Mr. Mizzi. I never stated you were the only one to have problems. Read the above post we are Men & we do not read instructions. When ever you install something you have to leave it loose. Then when everything looks good tighten it up. I do mine slightly different from the instructions. I just found it easier.

I agree LOL
Buick ABS Moonroof Headliner (Precovered)
The above is the very first moon roof headliner

I should have some here for the TFT car on the board.
I have to do 1 going in my Red car but that will be black & not easy to post. I do have a burgundy one here, but again dark.
I have a blue one in an 86 LS out there.I'll get that pic tomorrow. That is a medium blue.

I just got one for an astro roof car, and my friend got one for a solid roof (thanks Brian).

The one real benift is the headliner is real flexible. So for caged cars it is A LOT easier to move around, where you are always worried with the factory piece breaking.

Just thought I would mention that! :)

I think these are a great idea by the way (for what it is worth) :)

Thx!

Yes you did. And I did not start this for a *&^%%$ session. I was just trying to find out if anyone else was having issues. If there was, then it must not be me. I was ok writing this thinking it was me. Stuff happens. But I am not. And for the record, I got no instructions with any of mine. Three in total.

I was trying to keep this between us. I don't agree with airing this until there is no resolution. I am having issues and just want them fixed. Concedering that I made a purchase from you at the time it arrived I was showing good faith. As I was taking your word when you told me you would fix it. I don't wish to fight, or air this in a bad way toward you, I just want it fixed. So thank you in advance.
