As I said I had a couple of classes I wanted to throw out there, one is being discussed and seems to be gaining traction. I discussed it with Clint before we posted it but this one I have kept to myself becuase I am not sure if it will work. If an open mind is kept I think it can be one of the most exciting things out there...

Turbo Pro Stock-

Weight 32-3300 #'s

Engine 109

Tire 10.5"

Regal

8 Second 109's baby!

This IMO will bring innovation to the table... Only rules are in your head... This IMO will bring innovation and out of the box thinking to find out what our stock motors can really do.

You can build you car to fit any OTHER class you desire, non buick related, so no more fuss about why build a TS? car that I can't run anywhere else.....

I just personally feel our #'s are so small now that to limit someone to 2 pages of rules that make their car compete with only a handful from across the US just isn't as feasible in these economic times as it used to be. If you are a racer you probably want to be able to run your car anywhere and be competitive as possible... This allows you to come to a Buick even with your car and run no matter what you have:biggrin: It doesn't but a quick second asleep at the line for a 10sec car to beat a 9 sec car;)

Am I crazy???

BTW, if this works I want to try it with the S2 guys too;):D:biggrin::D Am I a mad man:eek:

Damn Shane, your are a genius!

You have done to TSM what should have been in the beginning - a racer's class without petty, self-serving rules that changed whenever someone was successful in the class.

Maybe the real racers can go about tending their car without worrying what the next BS rule is going to cost them, or what unknown complaint, which dickhead will have them dis-qualified.

Let the fun begin! :)

I say try it with the S2 guys first. The S2 cars are already built and some have to add weight to make the classes.

While I don't think we need yet another class to further complicate and divide the cars I do have to admit this looks appealing.

I've been saying for years we needed to simplify the rules. No bs turbo size limitations, rear end rules, tranny rules, etc - just a simple set of easy to understand rules that would be simple to police/tech. That in itself would lead to less drama without all the bitching and moaning.

Seems simple enough. Have TPS (Turbo Pro Stock)and TPM (Turbo Pro Modified)

TPM Rules:

Weight: 3000-3200 #'s

Engine: any V6

Tire: (10.5 Slick OR any size drag radial)

Regal

Shane we could run this in NC and not run the TSO or TSM, just thinking out loud....

This has been my thinking since my 1st trip to BG... I have built cars for classes, still am:eek:, but I think this is the only way to have any kind of decent car count and increase R&D to go even faster...

I can only imagine the different types of combos that could be put together... May even see some NOS;)

Like I say earlier building a car for 1 or 2 races a year compared to being able to run anywhere is just appealing as chocolate cake IMO:biggrin:

How about an anything goes 3 bolt turbo class? I understand people like beating the crap out of a 109 block, but lets face it, A stage 2 block is not making anymore power. Most average lowbuck guys are running 3 bolts.

Shane my initial thoughts on this are that the TSM class will just disappear due to the fact that they already are pushing the 8 second mark WITH RULES...
Remove the rules and they will just get faster. Not everyone has the money to build a bullet proof TSM motor to compete as it is. Don't get me wrong, I think the lack of rules is a good thing to an extent but just limiting the rules to a 109 block will result in a select few cars running the class. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

These are the rules i like, one thing though, stock suspension or any suspension?

Well that is a concern Bryan, it is not my intent. I have said for years to the TSM guys I wish we had a pro and an am class or some variant of it. My first year at BG there were tons of TSM cars that ran from 9.4? right on up to some 11's!

The way I am looking at it is this is a place for the "big boys" to step up and swing for the fences without all the pesky rules to limit their imagination... Hoping it leads a void in TSM where some of the other >67 turbo owners can still play:biggrin:

Anything goes IMO. Like I said Otto, the only limitation I want is one's brain:cool:
