Not sure how I missed those pictures you posted...but those look good!

I just finished a WWII plane and am wrapping up another truck. STILL haven't finished the '56..but I am really close now. Actually doing final paint on the body. Things I really...really...really...don't like about the body, but I am just going to finish it and take what I learned from the custom body work into the next one. I will post some pictures later/tomorrow.

Just started models again. Building replica of my daly driver with what little spare time I have.
I have an almost exact replica of my Turbo T w/ vector wheels and correct duplicolor paint.
With YouTube and some patience, you can really build customized models. Thinking of taking a break from current build and start another replica of my Tubo T with some of the new techniques I've been practicing.
This time, I'll build an exact copy with opening doors & trunk, dual exhaust, and detail engine bay.
My goal is to have replicas of my vehicles on the fire place mantel.

Does having amassed a huge collection of original unbuilt kits fm 60's and 70's & 80's count? Got other, from under the table, stripped clean bombs, a handful of resin's, and a massive selection of parts all categorized into boxes too. Just don't have time to build lately. Man just the idea gets me going tho. I haven't even gotten my built kits out of their moving towels for display since, well. It's been 8-yrs...

Love what you guys are sharing though! :D:cool:

I'll get some out for pics. Mine aren't quite what my buddies who've won NNL's and other super detail contest's are, but I'm quite satisfied with my accomplishments.

There's a Derby thread in the archives somewhere here, where I showed the Pinewood Derby winner's my son and I've built more recently. We got Best Paint for both our cars something like 5-yrs running, and always placed in the races too!

Very cool. Well done. I can't buy another model right now, especially just for the rims...but I'm going to remember that!!

Here's the Mustang P-51 and 1955 Ford truck I've done recently. Putting the finishing touches on the ford still....but really happy with some things about it. Not so much on others. Learning process!!

a neighbor and me would build a bunch of cars, planes, and ships - set them up outside, then get our pellet guns and shoot the shit
out of them!! He would shoot at mine and I at his. Last one with something resembling a model "won" the battle. Boy that was fun!

You're right about the learning process. A lot of tips on you tube that I never knew how to do.

Built the replica Turbo T back in 1995. Replica I'm slowly building now will be exact down to factory paint and wheels.
I'm taking a 1/25 scale and customizing with a 1/24 scale donor kit, so everything will match exact down to car year. Doors, trunk, moonroof were cut to be functional. Rear bumper and front end scaled down and customized.

this is something I have been meaning to start doing again. As a teen I used to build cars , boats and planes ( i had the planes hanging from my ceiling in my room). I then discovered firecrackers and a bb gun, it was a shame, I had a nice collection and they were very well built too but I blew them up or shot them up. I have a couple of kits kicking around the house somewhere, an 88GT Mustang convertible and a 55 or 56 Chev sedan if I remember correctly, just need to find them.

revell will be releasing and have relieased some pretty awsome kits lately check modelroundup.com

If you like a lot of detail, the corvette C5-R and C6-R models are really good kits. There's metal photo etching pieces you can get especially for them too.

I'm building a '69 Corvette now that I am done with the '55 Ford truck. The thing I am concentrating on with this one is wiring/plumbing the engine bay/frame! Wish me luck! lol

I didn't do that to any that I built as a kid...they just didn't service moving with the USAF!! lol

Lot of the old kits are worth money now. Collector items. People are always searching for models they built as kids and want to rebuild them now that they are older and they are better builders

Yeah! Unless they re-release them. Then the box art is the only thing continuing to give them any value. I can't believe the prices some of them get though! Ouch! I think I might have misgiving's building a kit I paid over $100 for! Then again, I keep em in the boxes, then curse I could've built em when they're re-released anyhow...

I should really get a smart phone so it would be less a PITA to share pics.
Take pics, load pics, resize pics, resize pics again, blah...
