I've got a mildly built 2004R but for my street rod I really don't have any limitations so what would you suggest? I don't mind spending the money, but I only want to do it once.

BTW, the car will see 99.99% cruising time. Dependability, not 1/4 mile E.T. is the primary goal. Having said that, my motor has Champion heads, 50# injectors, ported TB and intake, roller rockers, TE44....

So:
2004R

700R4

or 4L60E?

A 2004R IS A GOOD CHOICE AND YOU WONT NEED AN ADAPTERWHICH WILL BE NECESSARY WITH THE OTHER 700R4 OR 4L60E TRANSMISSIONS.STRENGTH WISE YOU WILL BE AHEAD OF THE GAME TOO.THE 200R4 HAS A SLIGHTY NUMERICALLY LOWER RATIO THAN THE 700S MAKING IT LESS SENSITIVE TO FALLING OFF THE CAM ON RATIO CHANGES.IF YOU NEED SPECIFIC RATIOS OR OTHER TECHNICAL INFO ON THESE UNITS YOU CAN READ THE BUILD UPS AND HORSEPOWER RATINGS FOUND AT THE URL.IF YOU OPT TO BUILT IT YOURSELF YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT BOARD TO FIND GOOD QUALITY PARTS AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.
