I'm going to be assembling my new engine soon, and Im just curious if anyone has any suggestions on what kinds of bearings I should use.....if any are better than the other?

Also, what are your opinions on raising the compression ratio to 9:1 ? I've heard that Dutweiller does it on his engines. I was thinking about doing it, but not if its gonna cause me trouble later down the line.

I used the Clevite "P" series bearings in my engine. Main bearing part # MS960P and rod bearing part # CB1228P. They are probably the most popular bearing around. No problems with them here. In our area, P.A.W. should have them in stock at a good price. Keep the compression ratio @ 8.0:1 and let the turbo make the extra compression. More static compression will lead to detonation at higher boost levels quicker than stock.
