I know it's not a part - an off dwall question maybe, eh? I have seen some Buick literature that had blacked out versions of the BUICK Blackhawk (or eagle). I think I saw them on a sheet that Buick sent out to dealers back when. The sheet was intended for use in layout of newspaper adds possibly. There were variety of birds of different sizes & poses etc in black silhouette and logo BUICKcity lettering. I would like a copy/scan of the Buick sample sheet. Anybody know what I am talking about? Like the bird in the attached logo but blacked out silhouette.

Thanks Greg and Bryan - I just wnt something form each post. I'm looking for the front view of the bird like the plate and the silhouette filled in like Greg's profile version.

The Seventies had some BUICK/GM hand outs that used these logos or the bird and the script (fonts) on the plate. These logos were also used on some of the Regals and Century's before the Sport Coupe came along in 1978.

I have done the Google image searches and found some nice eagles and blackhawks just not the Buick one I've seen. Anyway these images help. The right ones will turn up, I'm sure. If nothing else I could use a scan of the plate and a marker to make my own bird. It might turn out OK.

During the mid/late 70's I know that the Skyhawk had the sticker you're looking for Bob. Have you looked at H body .org to see if one of them has a few laying around? I also know that Buick had an early version of the power source that had it on the cover. I believe it was called the Buick free spirit book?

I'll do that Charlie. And Davelostmissing I have seen a very nice original of the '78 Turbo Century at Jones Chevrolet in Richland Center WI. Its owned by and still in the family that still manages that dealership. I found pictures of it somewhere on this computer. Not bad!

Buick's answer to retail red. I remember those cars expecially well as my brother had a similar looking 80 or 81 X-11 hatchback that put a buttload of miles on the ticker.

If you get a chance to go back and take some more pics of that Century, please start a post on it in the B4black section.;) Those are so rare that seeing one in that nice of a shape is 100% cool.:D

Bob, weren't there some license plates like that? I may have one in my stash if that helps at all? I can't remember what I did with it but I know I had one. JP

Man those century's sure are cool cars. I really think they will eventually become valuable and mote sought after in the next ten years.

Great threads Charlie!!! I remember that Pace Truck too. OLD huh? The graphics are dated but I loved them then and still do. I am using some derivations on my car. Not necessarily the way they were but more like how an alcohol addled brain might want them if it had its way. I want to put the night hawk silhouette in the interior of the car. I have some more pics of the Century and will post up in B4Black.

JP! I have stuff I don't remember too. You know. CRS is what my old buddy Lois used to say. Her memory makes me smile but that's another story. If you happen to find that plate and can easily scan the section with the whole bird I would appreciate it. I'll black it out to make my own silhouette ......Check out the wheels JP.

Those cars were great. Much quicker than most in the day and "hatch" rear to boot. Unique early production to my thinking. My brothers X11 was not fast like some Buicks, but fun, economical, and cool in an off dwall way! I told him he should have bought a Buick but he would always say he didn't want to pay extra just to walk in the showroom door. His car had over 200K before WI winters ate it away.

Gotta go in to MIlw but will check back later.

GN Thanks - I had forgotten about the buickturboregal site. That is a very close if not exact example of the BUICKcityNEWS hawk and lettering I recalled. Found one small one below (removed the NEWS portion) - looking for larger version now.

Great decals at phoenixgraphix. I wonder how many they sell Charlie?

My apologies and thanx to all!

My old computer just can't keep up iwth all the banners, graphics and adds, so when I log in with user name/password I can't see most of the graphics and some of the links. I just discovered by logging off & then visiting turbobuick.com I can see ALL the stuff you guys have posted. IT IS GREAT including the post over at V8buick. I think I have what I need to get going with my logo. After I get this car finally finished or at least to the level of transportation so I can go to A or B of my choosing maybe i will buy or upgrade my computer. When I log in back in - pics disappear and the spinning wheel of digital doom takes over. danm#!!

Here is the graphic I have been working on but I don't think its really BUICK so that was holding me back. I like the nasty look but am trying to use something tht looks more like its drawn from Buick history. Time to get at it.
Thanks.

Good question Bob. What I like is that they'll make custom stickers if you want them. What I'm thinking is that the 80's Buick side and trunk stickers they make just might be what I was looking for on the 83T but finding one for the 82GN is gonna be a real pain to find.:(

I think the Gran Sport pkg. has the "BUICK" font that was on the 82 GN - seems they could make the right size if they do custom work.

An idea for you might like - get a local artist to do what you want - the only disclaimer to add is a question " ever hear of artistic license?" Lots of times that artist will think the owner wants one thing when he really wants another AND I suppose cost could be all over the map depending.
