Another short cut you can take if you want to log fuel pressure. Tee into wire 28 going to the fast sportsman box for the signal or you can run the signal under the hood to the egr gray signal wire and it will lead into the ecu to show fuel pressure. Once you are reading fuel pressure, measure where actual fuel pressure is on a mechanical gauge, vac on and off, and then hook up the sensor. Then go to view-config-fps and you will be able to drag the line up or down to get the reading to match actual fuel pressure. "Calibrating fps offset". I also went in, as Cal recommended, with a timing light and verified actual timing. Lock the timing at 25*, get a timing light and rev up to where the line is steady at 25*.

Could you please explain exactly how to set/lock the timing in. Thank you!

Go to: view/spark functions/spark parameters
Check the box labeled "Fixed Timing Enable"
Put whatever value you want to lock the timing to in the "Fixed Timing" box
Click "Apply" at the bottom
Now go check your timing. If it's off by two degrees change the "crank reference angle" by two degrees THEN HIT APPLY and recheck timing.
Do this until timing light matches fixed timing

When you first get your Sportsman, you should calibrate the TPS sensor. It's very easy.
WITH THE ENGINE OFF & KEY ON Go to: view/system configuration/sensor calibration/TPS calibration
Once there, click on auto- calibrate, click "ok", then slowly floor the throttle to WOT. Let off and go back to the TPS calibration and uncheck the box

I've been meaning to update my tuning session progress.
Piece of advise: if you unpin the 02 plug, make sure you put them in where the are supposed to go! Seems straight forward enough but somehow this idiot got the wires switched side to side. When we tried to tune the O2 was unresponsive which caused us difficulties. Once I removed my head from my butt we were in business.
All I can about Cal is he really knows his stuff! He also is very friendly and even when you do something as idiotic as described above, he still doesn't treat you as such.
It'll take some time getting to know this system and I know as I have questions Cal would be glad to help again. Overall though the software is pretty user friendly and easy to navigate. Lots of shortcuts to get to the tables you need to look at using the F keys.
I can't really say enough about this system! I can't imagine going back to chip and using the gas pedal system to set perimeters.

Thank you Cal!!!

Holly sent out an email yesterday to fix the fan glitch. The fans continue to run key on engine off, but the new reflash will correct this. You may have to email her to get the flash or you can Pm me and i can forward the email and attached files.

Here's how to overlay a data log on a table:
1. Open up the data log
2. Open up the Table you want to adjust
3. At the top of your screen, click "Windows/Tile Vertically". This will put the tables side by side
4. Click anywhere on the Table and Select the letter "D". This will hide the dashboard at the bottom
5. Click on the datalog and it will put a cursor on the other screen (table)
You can scroll along the datalog and follow the cursor on the other screen. this shows you what values the computer is using and allows you to adjust in the correct spot.

Additionaly, when looking at your datalog, you can click on individual sensors listed on the bottom and temporarily hide them to make the datalog easier to view

anyone having issues with enrichment rates? right off idle my car will go -10 to -14 stumble then over correct to +6-10. The numbers eventually settle down once you stay steady in the cells. But the transition is way off.. I know I have some work to do on the main ve but the fuel transition is making it hard to dial in. I have tried adjusting the tps enrich rates, tried adjusting the ve, also forced it to open loop and I can watch the afr go to 10 then to 14 before it settles down.. I know it will call for more fuel when you apply the throttle but this is too much if a swing and causes it to overshoot and you can feel dead spots where the car transitions between cells..

I'm getting the same thing, usually happens from a stop and go. Its under very light throttle less that 7% or up to 14%. Right as you gas it it stutters/stubmles catches itself then your good. Has died a few times but I usually let it warm up a bit then its good. Per Cal and my own mechanic, adjust the ae/tps. I've got mine pretty low and car still stumbles. I did adjust the main VE table but went back to the original numbers just to see what would happen. When I did adjust took out add fuel but was still getting it. Looked for vacuum leaks didn't find any. Glad someone else is having the same issue. I'm gonna keep messing with it though.

we have identical setups too.... I was changing the ae vs tps on the fly and didn't make a difference. on cold starts the car will flood. has to be warmed up fully to be driveable... I'm going to verify my fuel pressure this afternoon and tps... I even tried modifiying the closed loop correction table after reading the help section. made no difference. the car goes so rich it will puff smoke and smell of raw fuel... also had no issues with the chip it ran perfect..

Make sure your TPS is calibrated correctly. You may want to try lowering your injector opening time in the operational parameters table. THIS WILL EFFECT IDLE FUELING ALSO

It seems like we are all having similar issues. Upon cold start if I touch the throttle and let off it stumbles and stalls. I have to hold throttle about 1/4 to restart. When warmed up it is much better but has stalled randomly coming off idle. Drivability is pretty good on the highway. I gained 2 lbs of boost at wot without any changes to boost controller. I'm going to turn the boost down on the actuator. I think I'm going to switch back to my old setup until I can get the XFI tuned by a pro. Idk. I love the system. But I have a race I would really like to win on Tuesday night. Big payout. I've won it twice out of 5 events, Runner up twice. Confidence is huge!

I will try that cal... I think I already did. I will also recalibrate the tps.... idle fuel is controlled though the ve correct? I don't see a designated table for idle fuel...... after the hours I have into this and lots and lots of digging online and in the help section I'm kinda there with you WB..... car was perfect with the chip... just a little frustrating only cause I'm familiar with this tunning and cant nail it down yet..

I'm sure we'll get it sorted out. I'm excited to learn and be able to tune myself. Also at some point be able to help others. I have quite a few friends that want the Sportsman they're all counting on me to get it nailed down so I can help with theirs.

I'm taking a pause for now and will study the help section on the main menu.

well I did the following.. I know the ve table is good if I keep it on those cells its about 2 for a correction. I adjusted my fp that was off 2-3 lbs. I reset the tps values... for the hell of it I added 15 degrees of timing on those cells just to see if I could drive it lean.. no luck... its from 0-4% tps this occurs... if I hold the throttle steady the rpms start surging... no vac leaks... n other know mechanical issues. dialing down the injector pulse width to .80 made it idle rough it seemed to like 1.0 under the parameters...

I know the injector pulse is very sensitive. Try smaller adjustments. Like .98,.96,.94 try to get the o2 correction close to zero.

You also want to set the throttle follower.
Once the car is warmed up and idling good go to the idle parameters and bring up the
throttle follower. now slowly screw in your idle screw until the iac counts are pretty much 0 or close.
THen recalibrate the TPS.

Thank you Otto... I wasn't sure what that paremeter meant... Will I see a line show up similar to the ae vs tps table, where is shows you where you are? Cause I know the factory has that set screw set one way and one way only for it to be perfect.. could you explain the throttle follower in this program?

If you have an older laptop that won't open the program, here's the fix:
Open Windows explorer and open the sportsman folder. There's a folder labeled "Extra". Open it and within that folder there is an executable file (vc_redist.x86.exe) that will install some
support files missing from older versions of Windows.
After that, the program will work on older laptops
