22lbs boost
SMC alchy
Reds 93
009's
Walbro 340 fuel pump
adj fpr
FP 50PSI vac off
no knock

I can't get my O2's above 730. Turning up the fuel pressure has no effect on the O2's.

Fuel pressure does go up with the boost. For example, if I am at 50PSI at idle, and I run 22lbs boost, the fuel pressure goes up to 72PSI.

Are low O2's normal for alchy or something?

Try putting another O2 sensor in. I had one that flaked when I installed it. It would only read 200 at WOT but was fine everywhere else. Put another new one in and all was fine.

My vote is fuel delivery. You have a bad fuel pump, or clogged filter.

Seen this many times..

That is what I thought. But my FP guage is showing the correct numbers. 50lbs of fuel at idle plus 22lbs of fuel with 22lbs of boost; 72lbs.

My buddy Jack had the same thing... swapped the pump.. done. And his would go to 70 PSI as well.

Plus at 50 base pressure, thats a lot to begin with.

You have an EGT guage? This would confirm it. If the EGT shot to 1700 degree.. then it would coincide.

How?

Fuel is more like 45psi line off. With 22psi boost, the fuel goes to 67psi. Fuel filter is a few months old, pump is two years old.

If the fuel is flowing, the fuel is flowing, right? Tell me more about your buddies situation.

I am not busting your balls, just trying to understand.:D

Also, someone over at t6p.com mentioned that I need a chip specificly made for alcohol. They said that the Reds 93 chip that I have does not have enough injector duty cycle or something...

Its the other way around, the Red's chip are typically really rich from all the cars I have ever tried. As a matter of fact, on the upper RPM's that chip dumps a bunch of fuel in.

You should try another chip and make sure the issue persists. If it does.. its starts narrowing down the possabilities.

Chip change is a lot cheaper/easier than FP change.

Street chips typically are richer than alky chips. Becuase on AI you have extra fueling.

I saw another thread (on 009's) and half the people said they run rich on the bottom, and lean on top. May be an old wives tale.

I talked to John at Quad air who said even if the O2's are low, if I don't have any KR, then it shouldn't matter. He said I am good to go. He also said the alchy might be affecting the O2's.

Anyway, I am getting a new O2 this weekend anyway. I am still on the OEM GM O2.

I only have one chip. I guess I should get another one in case I need to make mods to the one I have. I just hate spending $60 - $100 on something that is only going to sit around.:D Besides, asking people on this board about whose chips to buy is like asking what kind of oil filter or spark plug to use...

At 22 PSI boost, high line pressure, alky, etc.. that car should be way in the 800's.

Nothing wrong using GM O2 sensors.. as long as its not 15 years old.. if it is.. your wasting your time tuning your car..Get a new one, if O2's are still low.. I say bad FP/reg/filter.. fuel issue.

Yes they can be rich on the bottom, lean on the top, but most if not all chip makers go the extra step in adding fuel on the top end.

You dont know anyone that runs 009's in your area..just swap the chip for a few minutes and see..

Check it with an EGT, O2's have been proven to be inaccurate IMO. Also, depending on the "scale" of your tool, your o2's may be better then you think. Are you using only a Turbo Link, or do you have a scan master as well? Your fuel pressure sounds way to high, for the amount of boost you are running. I was moving more air then you(way back when I was running alky) and have never had to run my 009's static like that to sustain good o2's. Mark(tta) had his o2's all the way down too low 700's on the direct scan, but his egt's were in the 1600's and the car ran excellent @ BMP. He turned down his fuel pressure @ the rail almost 30 PSI and his o2's only moved 80-90 counts downward. This is with 55lbs, and he is using a denso sensor.

He was also running str8 c-16.

Also, when I was running alky, i could not run anymore then 20-21 psi with Reds 93 chip. I concluded that the fuel enrichment was not there, to support higher boost levels. I ran his 108 race chip with alky, which had 25 # of timing, and dumped alot of fuel, and ran 23-25 psi with alky though. :)

Thanks.

I sold the TurboLink and I am getting a DirectScan.

I also got a new Denso O2 sensor. I am pretty sure my OEM GM stocker was still on the car.

I also got a PT52 to put on.
