I went to the GM Auto show in Motion yesterday and drove the crap out of a couple of the Chevy SSR's...I used the SUV/Truck track more like a performance track..was very impressed with its power and handling and interior....just wondering how it would tow a 3000 lb boat or my GN on trailer??...its bigger than an Extreme but not as big as my Silverado, probably built on the Colorado mid-size truck frame.
I figure if a Jeep Cherokee can tow the GN/trailer the SSR could...now if the price would come down..mid $30k for a used one and $40-45k for a new one will keep me from getting one anytime soon.
As for the other cars, drove a manual Vette, auto Vette, manual GTO, a supercharged Cobalt, and a BMW 325. The Vette's were fun and alot more powerful than the 2000 Vette I drove before..but the course was too small, 20 secs you were done..but I did get it sideways a bit and burned the tires off at about 30 mph coming out of a turn
GTO was unimpressive probably because the wimpy course..the BMW was a pos. Cobalt was ok for a little 4 banger, got it up to about 10 psi, but was still lacking power.
They did have a new Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky on display, awesome looking car and a supercharged version will be out in the Spring!
