Classic Fast Laptop Datalogging

Forgive me for being a newbie to the Classic Fast..... but I was working on a customers car and made a datalog using a laptop.... while I was online with the ECU. I am not happy with the frames per second..... sometimes I was only getting like 3 frames per second.

Will getting an external datalogger net me more FPS?

FWIW.... we weren't logging but a few sensors.... maybe 6 or 8....

This is caused by having too many windows open showing the sensors. Close all the windows in the background and don;t try to log 14 sensors at once. Keep it to 12 or 13 max.

So where is the bottleneck?

Is it the speed of the FAST ECU?

Is it the laptop itself? Mine is a pentium III at least.... Windows XP. Doesn't seem to be too slow for everything else......

Will purchasing an external FAST datalogger help any?
