Cruise control trouble shooting

I just thought maybe my low fuel light on my GN didn't work, but after reading your post it leads me to believe they weren't hooked up from the factory or something like that? How can I get a low fuel light working on my analog dash?

Just a couple other ????
Do I have to disassemble the stalk from the column to check the switch wires? or can I check this from somewhere under dash?

If I don't even get the dash lite on when I depress the switch does it mean it is not getting power?
