I have a soft spot in my heart for TPI cars. Thanks for sharing. Those 5spd TPI cars were a tick faster than the 350/auto cars back in the day. TPI is best suited for a 305, IMO, but a high compression, alky fed, big runner 350 TPI can make power! Not as much as the new LS motors but it can be done. So many took them off though in favor of a carb or the LT1 style mini-tunnel ram. You keep a nice collection no matter what
Thanks man. Been trying to figure out what to do with it. The darn thing runs great but the potential for an LSx / 6Speed swap is luring me. Hopefully I can control myself and leave it alone for now.

If it were me, I'd change the Camaro but the handling probably isn't there with a convertible. I bet the 5spd Firebird is probably fun to drive now. I know where you are coming from though. Those LSx motors are doing amazing things. They are as amazing as what the 109 block was when people first started turning them up. It's amazing the 109 can still hang at all. I say buy one already molested though and do the swap; what am I saying though? I'm definitely not a 'leave it alone' kind of a guy! Good luck no matter what you do.
It's a Caddy. Years ago I was doing a Chevy Suburban tow vehicle and was going Caddy 500, but ended up with a new Powerstroke F350 instead. I wish I would have finished it. Only standard shift Suburban I've ever seen.
Ya, Ya, I know. Most wouldn't think it's a hot rod, but...... For a modern 5,000# car that can run bonified high 14's bone stock, I think it can be called a hot rod, albeit a luxo hot rod!!
