Gonna race one of my club members in his modded 02 vette. He run's 11.9 at around 116 mph. All mods was done on GN around 02-04. I have the following mods: I think a Te44 turbo(the housing has A/R .60 M24 L Garrett turbo) But I think its a 44 in this housing.--Wastegate--GreenTop Inj--Terry H dwn Pipe--3 inch Cats with Flows--Scanmaster--Reed Cam(serial # L4134)--(Lifters and Timing Chain was installed around this time 140k miles)--Adj fuel Reg--Everything else is stock. Bought a Alky kit (RAZOR) from a member here. So I will be installing that with a TT chip. My Q's are. Just saying I do have a Te44 turbo. What's the max boost should I try to run with this set up. And Will I be close to running 11.9. Car has 197k on the clock. But still runs fine.

You better have some good tuning skills. You will need to run it as hard as it will go and put in a switch so you can lock the converter at WOT in 3rd. what part # is the injector?

I dont no the part number right off hand on the inj. I will get it 2morrow. I 4got to mention that I have a 2800 stall. Couldn't tell anymore about it. Also, How can u lock up the converter with a switch. Is it hard to do. Tks

Practice launching the car. If you get out on him I think you'll be tough to catch.

I will take $20 on the Vette....please. But I will be cheering for you. Not that ya can't but it sounds like you are going to need some seat time. Once you get the alky and chip installed start bringing the boost up slowly and get some practice in.

Good luck.

So whats the max boost I should be able to run if things go good.

Eric locks my convertor on my TT Alky chip at 85 mph, no switch needed .I went from 12.2 @111 to 11.88 @115 @ 24lb boost

I use a switch I flip while going down the track but a paperclip works in the aldl port connecting pins A and F in the top row (closest to dash) of the aldl port. The paperclip method will lock it in 2nd gear and shift into 3rd while locked where if you make a switch, you can select when it locks. I only lock mine in 3rd. Another option is use a Bailey chip and you can program the speed at which lockup occurs at WOT and still turn it back off for street use. Don't lock your converter in overdrive. Run in drive and lock it in 3rd; the fourth gear planet is weak in these transmissions under good power. I run 25psi to get the times in my sig so it's possible, but you'll need to really know your car.

Youre going to want to get rid of the cat and run open exhaust too. My answer to the boost is as much as it will make but you really need to know how to get the fuel and timing right or you will probably hurt it.

How much fuel should I be running. Gonna get my friends gauge 2day and adj the pressure if needed. Ive heard it should be set between 38-42.

Your base pressure will need to be set around 43psi for the TT chip but I think Bison is stating you need to be able to adjust your WOT fueling and WOT timing, which you can do with the TT chip, to get the results you are looking for. I suggest becoming very familiar with the tuning process on these cars when using a TT chip or as Bison stated, you'll probably hurt something.

Have the chip burned for the boost you will run. The base pressure doesn't matter that much. What matters is what is at full boost. It should be a 1:1 gain. You really need to get a wideband readout so you can adjust the fuel and creep up on the boost.

Thank you both for info. But when I give TT all my info on my car. And he burns a chip for my mods. Will the fuel and timing be already set. Or do I need to install Chip and reprogram myself.

Sorry Bison,
But whats a wideband readout or how do I go about getting this readout.

I think you need to put this race on hold for a while....

agreed with "tits for avatar"... the last thing you wanna do is rush to make a race if you dont even have an idea of the tune required or the WOT running condition of the car as it sits

its not cool when you loose, but you'll be laughed at if you drive over your crank

if it were my bag id push for a 1/8mile race and tune the alky to a 10.9 afr and 26 psi... even then your holeshot/330' will be your strongpoint
