hello; I know the TB requires premium fuel from GM but tell me if you did run reg. fuel what could happen? I know knock and ping probably poor performance.
Could you adjust for reg. fuel? My last fill was $4.10 a gal. and the gov. wants to put on another .19 cent gas tax to help things out. Does anyone here run reg. fuel?

If you cannot afford the price for premium gasoline, sell your GN and get an economy car. :(

The last time a customer did this, it cost him over $1000 to replace head gaskets and head work, and the current blend of pump gas is worse than a few years ago.

Bite the bullet and buy good gas sunoco if you can find it..Id guess you could run the cheap stuff if you keep it out of boost the motor is only 8.5 to 1 compression..But its seems now a days drivin a turbo buick is done for pleasure, and what fun is drivin it if you cant get into boost? JMO..

good to have ya back with us nick .. I buy 100 oc for 5.99 . C12 for 7.00. E85 is in my future .. I wish i could run premium !!

I agree it's sticker shock at first, but consider the difference between 18 gal @ 3.89, and 18 gal @ 4.10, is only 3.78 per tank. Does that break the bank? Is the GN your DD?

BTW I live in CT which is currently #1 highest price per gallon in the lower 48. Right now I'm on a trip in NY state, which I believe is #2. Probably should consider moving out of the Northeast...

hello; My words are more of the whine or bitch and I doubt I'll ever run reg. unless HT is out. You here about people using HT when all that's needed in there vehicle is reg. Now that's a waste but I'll bet there are people out there that run reg. or have run reg. with no real reason in there TB.

take a shiit load of timing out and turn the boost to 4# ....now its all show and no go...lol.

hello; I've heard of thumb wheel chips that have a valet mode for parking attendants. How about a setting for reg. gas. It's probably been done defore but I havn't heard of it.

Savin $4 is really a joke. Skip a lunch. ahhhh.. never mind.. you can lead a horse to water but ya can't make em drink

Stop smoking ,drinking, chasing women or whatever vices you may have and keep high test.

Premium today is nothing like the premium that was around when these cars were made. Running regular should never even cross the mind of a TR owner. Premium with alky should be a requirement.:)

I will say I run regular in my Hemi Ram truck but have a Superchips tuner so I can run it on regular if I want with their 87 tune. Not getting any knock on the display on the Superchips tuner either. 89 octane IS recommended by the factory with a stock tune but not running boost obviously. Plus I pretty much baby it so I can enjoy the 11-12 miles per gallon around town.
