Randy, the problem isn't hard workers like yourself, but I'm sure you know someone in your plant that is working the system to make huge bucks for little work involved. I've been inside the GM Truck assymbley plant near Fort Wayne, the Chyrsler one in Kokomo, IN, and the Suburu one in Lafayette, IN and there was a mix of jobs. I have relatives working at two of those plants and as trust me they don't anything as hard as what a metal finisher does. (Hats off to you BTW) They rake in big money comparied with what they do. There are trade offs with one of them being common lay offs, but I'm sure you're aware at how lucrative the UAW contract is when that happens. As far as teachers making 25k, that is what I made last year and the salaries in some of the southern states are a joke. Fortunally, I moved here for my wife's job and not mine. Anyways, the tread isn't about education, or me griping about the pay even though I knew I wouldn't be rich teaching. It's about immigration and the loss of American jobs. I'm afraid that if we don't do something soon about it were in for a real depression. Not like last time, but a great depression. One that if happens will hopefully change our attitudes for many generations to come.
