Hey all,

I have to replace my coil pack and was wondering about this company called NIEHOFF. Has anyone heard of this comapny??? I know I should go with AC Delco brand, but $$$ is an issue right now. How about ACCEL brand? Are those coils better than AC Delco? And if I do go with another brand besides AC Delco, should I take in considaration what spark plugs I should use? As always, your expertise is appreciated.

Niehoff is a questionable brand

Niehoff is a budget brand and NOT recommended for a critical component like the coil.

And, there is NO financial reason to avoid AC-Delco coils. We have them for $32 in our GN catalog, and if you're so inclined you can buy them from NOS4GN too for under $40.

Wherever you buy them doesn't matter. But whatever you do, get the right parts and STAY away from GM dealerships who gouge the crap out of the customer.

gyrhead,

Thanks for the info. I've noticed that you guys have one for $32.00. Part number D552. What plugs would you recommend. My car is '86 Regal T-Type and don't know it's whole history except that it has a clean title. I bought it 3 weeks ago.

Thanks.

Niehoff........

has been manufacturing electrical parts since the 50's.
they used to be good quality, but now, I'm not sure,
like everything else, maybe made in china???
for the price, stick with delco.

I just went to gyrhead.com and ordered the coil and seal. I will be researching on the correct or a better spark plug to use on my car.

with the spark plugs i would just recommend r43ts delco plugs if car is stock, if boost is over 20psi or so maybe go with r42ts gapped at .032-.035. ive never had a problem with these delco plugs. do not use platinum plugs though, cars do not like them from what ive read! hth!

R44TS is stock
R43TS is also what most use for the over 20 PSI

also look for the CR43TS, CR42TS etc.
"C" prefix is commercial grade and are a bit more durable.

Lot of guys like Autolite 24's, NGK UR5,
I tried Bosch Supers 7569 it s a conventional plug that has a nice desgin and I actually felt a difference in the ride--smoother,
The ground electrode is slightly tapered and gives a more concentrated area for spark, and the threaded body is nickel.

Thanks!

We provide the gasket at no charge with the coil, so if you paid for a gasket we'll credit it off your invoice.

Thanks for the order, we hope to serve you again!

Steve V,

Send it again. I delete it thinking it was someone trying to send me a virus. I had many problems with that lately. Thanks.
