I am battling a little kR issues and as I have been reading some of you guys say that your KR starts low and increases....this usually means real knock and some post that the knock starts high and gradually comes down which means false knock most of the time....

Are you guys using a power logger to see this?

I am running less than 14psi and I get random kr on some pulls sometimes I see 8* of KR and 820mv which I would think it is false....but I can only see it if I glance down for a second and from what I can see it does not start low and increase I just see 8 degrees pop up and I hit the recall button to see what my mv's are.

almost all WOT pulls I am seeing on the average of at least 5* or less of KR at 10-12 psi and my mv's are high 700's to mid 800's

At first I think it is false but I can not be sure....

Is it my best bet to get a Power logger set up?........I have been thinking about it just need the cash.

What/who’s chip are you running? The timing may be too high for today’s pump gas, try some race gas if you can get some. Also check to make sure that your fuel pres isn’t dropping off up top.

we have our Scanmaster in our line of vision.. I wouldn't want to be looking "down" to see what the Scanmaster is doin.

Like Grumpy said, it should be in your face to read it properly. Last thing you want to be doing is looking down when you are getting on it.

the chip was burned while the car was on the dyno....this was about 6 years ago and with the old cam shaft...I know things have changed like the new cam but still I should not have so much KR at so little boost.

I have my scan master mounted on the little ledge above the radio....it is not as high as the top of the dash but dose do ok.....I agree it should be higher but I can see it when KR pops up I just can not stare at it to see if it is progressive KR.

I am going to bring the chip back to my buddy that tuned the car...I am sure he can put the chip in his program and let me know where the timing is and it may be too high.

I have mine mounted on top of the dash on the left side. A quick look to the left is all I need. Powerlogger is nice because of the recorded info (lots of it). Once you turn the car off you loose the SM readings.
You might want to get the car back to you buddy's dyno and check it out. There may be other things going on besides the chip.

You can also add one of our scanmaster shade hoods when mounting it top of the dash, helps making it easier to read on sunny days and keeps the LED from reflecting on the windshield at night, that used to drive me crazy.

On losing the info on the SM when shutting off the car, would be cool if they had a memory chip in them.
