my idol in the morning is horrible. I turn it on and it goes to about 2000 rpms for a few secs then it slowy drops. Then it shuts right off. I already changed the cooling sensor and same problem.

Could it be the tps or tbs(im not sure what its called) switch?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jonathan

?

I have the same problem. I hope to figure it out this weekend.

What chip are you using?

I had similar problem with the stock chip.
It got better when I changed to a RA chip.
And got better when I got the Thrasher, and no longer stalls.

Whose chip? I'm sure Eric Marshall has that setting right, but I am not sure about others.

What injectors are you running? I usually set the closed loop timer enable temp to 111* and the timer to ~150 secs. That always fixed the problem for me.

Address $3403 and $3404 to 00 9A and $3405 to 68. I think that translated to the above numbers...anyway, thats what I used. Worked for stockers, 36's, 50's, 009's usually didnt need the mod, but in some instances it helped

Whats happening is as the car is running, the stock cal starts the closed loop enable timer at like 40*, then counts like 50 secs. Meaning, about a minute after a cold start, the car will try to run at 14.7:1 AF, which is too lean for a cold engine. The engine will then roll up and down a couple times and usually stall. One or two restarts and its warm enough to run at 14.7 and wont stall anymore.

Thats usually the deal. Now if you do have a modern chip, and the chip maker is aware of this problem, then you may have another issue.
