I'm realy SCARED!!!

Hi guys. I'm going for a small surgery on friday 1-11-2008 at 7:00am. I'm a BIG CHICKEN when it comes to doc's or hospital's, When Nuvia my baby was borne 6-25-2005 in the delivery room I almost pastout seeing niddles and stuff the attenion was off my wife and on me for a few minutes that day.:frown:

I was in there when my kid was born, or rather, cut out (C-section) I asked if I could look in the hole and the doctor was like "no". He was scared I'd pass out. Looked to me like he was just gutting a pig no biggie Don't tell my wife the pig part, i'd be sleeping in my Buick for a week.

Just follow your doc's pre-op orders about not eating stuff/etc (if he gave any) and just don't let it worry you to death.

Just busting your sack about the man up part, we all have our fears, mine is running off the road into water and drowning (yeah silly ain't it?).

hahahaha.. mine was a little different.. they were shooting the good stuff into me and talking to me the same time.. the doc was like, can you feel it, it will make you feel like your drunk.. i was like NOPE, so he pushed it more, i was like NOPE lol.. he was like, you should be feeling it, i stated "i drink alot so it's going to take more to make me feel drunk". That was the last statement i remember LOL :biggrin: ..

2 hours later (which felt like 5 minutes) i woke up with nurses all around me , hot ones on top of that

I just had knee surgery last friday, they put you out and when you wake up you feel real good !
after the pain killer wears off , your start looking for the vicodin, LOL
I'm slowly hobbling around, but getting better.
if you need some words of encouragement , lemme know, I'll cheer ya up!
just be glad for the support of your family and the Buick community,
give the wife and kids an extra hug, and you'll be fine.

Ya, don't worry about it, man.
I've been under the knife 14 times, and 12 were using only localized anesthesia.

I still hate it, even tho' I must qualify for pro status by now.

Aside from the hair loss...no ill side effects whatsoever.

If they are putting you out, like the guys said, you won't even know what's going on.

It always seems scary but once you get the anesthesia you will be out. It will literally seem like you just fell asleep and then simply woke up. Depending on the cocktail you may feel a little groggy but that wears off pretty soon and hopefully you'll be hungry and able to keep some food down. Once that occurs you can go home. The worst part is when the pain killer wears off and you start to feel pain. Make sure you have your prescription filled and close at hand.
