So does the insurance company hold the owner at fault thus causing an increase in policy?

My 2001 Bonneville did not start on the fisrt crank like it always does. While on the second crank I thought I smelled gas, then BOOM, then fire.

No damn extinguishers in the parking garage (car was in underground lot in Washington DC). No fire hoses and it took the fire department about 12 to 15 minutes to show up - it is a TOTAL loss:( :frown:

Ive yet to make a claim, i thought it was against the law for your insurance company to raise your policy if you make a claim on the car.
And damn near impossible for them to end your policy if you have been there for over 10 years.

Sucks about the bonneville, hope nothing other than the car was lost

No the insurance company does not hold you at fault and will not increase your policy.

I too had a pontiac burst into flames; 1999 Grand Prix GTP.

The insurance co says it is not my fault and since there is no negligence on my part, the others insurance should take care of it. That sounded good until a bunch of people started calling about damages.

I have more than minimum coverage but the fire was in an underground garage and there is a big apartment building over the garage. Just a dozen claims can max out the insurance and then everything I saved and made my whole life is at risk.
