kirban 2 cents worth

Giving everyone a heads up.

Mr AMC Guy will be posting for us with photos and complete rules sometime this coming friday or saturday Nov 27th-28th a 2 part Christmas Contest.

You got a two chances to win!

Put a post-it on your computer to check this thread next weekend, because in each case it is the earliest posting with the correct answers that wins the top prize.

Th top prize is a piece of top fuel history that has been autographed and will include actual proof. Quite unique. Prize and actual contest will be pictured.

Good luck players. Again it will appear in this thread either friday or Saturday.

One contest will require closest guess under actual count, other will involve a photo and you have to tell me what it is out of.

I thought you'd started already Dennis. Well I guess I'll just have to wait for now.

KIRBAN CHRISTMAS CONTEST

Please read all rules carefully. There are two separate contests. Both Contests are open to any readers of this forum except any employees related to the Turbo Business.

Contest One is to guess how many M & Ms are in the cardboard snowman pictured. You get 3 guesses and all 3 MUST be in one single post. NO EXCEPTIONS

Here are the clues: The snowman stands just over 8 inches tall by 2 inches thick. The widest part of his body is about 5 1/2 inches. Two small candy bars as shown are also in the snowman that would affect the count.

The winner is the earliest post in this thread that is UNDER the actual count! All 3 guesses you make must be in one single post!

Top prize is pictured also. It is a actual connecting rod and piston from one of Don Garlits Top Fuel Dragsters from 2001-2003. Each has been personally autographed by Don. A photo and certificate will come with the prize authenticating this. His Hemi powered dragsters make between 6,000 and 8,000 HP. Rods and pistons are only good for two runs then they are replaced. This is a unique piece of top fuel history from a legend that has over 144 national wins under his belt. You also get the snowman filled with M & Ms.

Second place in the M & M count gets a $50 Letter of Credit good for any catalog parts on our website.

The second Christmas contest you need to determine the make and model that the portion of the dash shown came out of. I do not need to know the year. It is a turbo car which you can see from the one guage.

Again 3 guesses and all must appear in the same single post. It can be a separate post from the M & M count post. The earliest post giving the car make & model, that is correct is the winner. The winner will get the autographed metal Hot Rod cover featuring Don Garlits. With it will be photographic proof he signed this metal poster.

The closing time period for both contests is Sunday December 6th at 6 pm eastern time. Winners will be contacted on this thread after that time.

We will have limited number of the autographed Don Garlits items for sale after the contest. MY son is making the custom stands for them. The connecting rods according to Don cost around $100 each when they were knew and the pistons ran about $65 each. Rods were Brooks Rods. The pistons are Vernolia pistons.

The Hemi rod is a good 20% larger than the ones in our Turbo Buicks. The HP figures are correct 6,000 to 8,000 HP.

Remember Don will be at the GS Nationals next May. All made possible by ZDDPlus.

Good luck on the contest. Be sure to follow the rules. You get one post per each contest 3 guesses in each post.

Hey and thanks for putting this on, its pretty fun.

For the Dash:

The winner is the earliest post in this thread that is UNDER the actual count

Could the answer be the number 1? There probably hundreds if not a 1000, but I'll give it a shot.

I am going to google Kirban's to look in the parking lot. This dash is killing me.

That dash doesnt have kms on it, but the symbols look just like my old vw. I'm confused.
