Knock Sensor Gauge issues!!!!!

I installed a knock sensor Gauge and the red light dot appears, goes to the right then it goes out. All the dots lights up and stay lit.
One of the guys suggested to tap into the radio power line,... will that help?

Actually that is working properly. The "backlight" feature is standard in the current production gauge where all lights are visible at night, very dimly, and when you see detonation, the bright lights will illuminate and the backlighting will go off.
