I just switched my server software from Sambar (excellent and free but doesn't support asp.net stuf) to Microsoft IIS. I had to move to Windows XP Pro as an OS and so far it's working fine (my network is a little buggy, but overall it's okay).

Anyhow, server is working. I installed ActivePerl and software called awstats for logging (both free and great software). Trouble is that the IIS logs are in GMT which bugs me. Despite the fact my PC clock is EDT, the logs are still GMT. Is there any way to change this? I searched microsoft.com and came up empty.

Thanks,
Jim

"Offset" dont have info handy or remember if you need to alter the format, but look for offset info as a start.

GET PATCHED!

IIS Lockdown tools are a must for a robust box IMO but havent tried them or know what applies with XP.

Finally, Im using IIS on a 2K box that has Sygate firewall software (free) installed.... did that because the machine is "out there" on the net and as such makes a good target. Ran it for nearly two weeks without a firewall - just patches and the lockdown but I couldnt sleep at night. heh.

Lemme know what you find out.

It's patched but not locked down yet. I use ZoneAlarm Pro for a firewall - seems to work okay.

Thanks for the info - I'll check on "offset".
