Haven't seen you John N. or most of the Buick crowd in a awhile. Saw Mitch Smith and Carl Brimer at the IHRA Texas Nationals at the new Dallas facility this past weekend, see Jim West once in a while, Todd King still helps me tune when our schedules allow. With the Lubbock track being redone, no local Buicks to see either except my own.
Made some progress with the (ahem) Camaro during Top Sportsman qualifying in Dallas. What a great track they prepared. Ran 7.65 @ 194 pedaling off the line. Then ran 7.41 @ 189 with a 1.10 60' and again a pedal. The fuel fitting at the pump was spewing fuel near end of run (FAST was maxing out in compensation), and the blower belt was being shredded by contacting a small area of the belt guard. That did me in. The mph was #8 in the field but the ET #19. The way it's set up with boost control off the line for a couple seconds, 5000 rpm launch, 30 psi max boost, 3.89 gears, 1.80 tranny gear set, 7800 rpm shift, it's on pace for ~ 7.20 at this weight. A more aggressive setup might cut half a second but this is fine for now.
