I need a Shift Recalibration Kit...any preference on one over the other, PTS or CK for a TTA with the mods in my signature ? The car has about 46,000 miles on it and shifts are kind of weak (not very firm) especialy since I just install a set of sticky M/T DR's 255/50-16. I'm sure both are quite good just wondering if there is any preference or not for the TTA.

Thanks,

I have the CK kit. Absolutely the best I have had. Easy install too. I highly recommended it. Big CK fan here. I have heard from others that the PTS work well too.

Your welcome, but I have nothing to do with CPT accept I got his shift kit in my tranny! One of my friends recommended that kit after he used it. He was right, it's the balls.

I really like the CK kit that is installed in mine. It does have a Brian Hofer rebuild to go along with it, which just makes it even better :D

I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the kits mentioned in this thread.

Our kit is so simple and..

Works VERY well. Again I will ask you to ask people who have used them. Russ Merritt and many others , (I used Russ cause it just came into my head first) but we send out 6-10 a week. One of our biggest movers and at the nats you will see why.
They will be there.
Also any questions that need to be answered will be addressed with as much time needed to fully explain. It is very rare I get to go anywhere so at the nats you got a shot at me. Take adavantage of it. Nail me down, LOLOLOLOL
This trip is what we call a "sanity" trip. I am going to have fun and get away to preserve sanity.
Later BOYZ..

Thanks to all with your comments and suggestions...like everyone has said all of these kits are probably just fine. I actually ened up ordering the kit and pressure regulator system from Bruce at PTS last Friday and should be here Wed. I'll let you kow how the install goes and the final results.

Thanks again for all that helped.

Installed the PTS shift kit and pressure regulator over the weekend. Had to call Bruce twice for some quick questions and tips talke to him within 10 minutes after leaving a message...thanks for the quick responce Bruce great customer support. Got it all installed even the pita pressure regulator...real hard to put in while under the car but after about a dozen trys is finally went in. The car only took about 6 quarts to fill it back up since it wqas only a on car drain. Now it runs and the 1-2 shift at 1st was BAM but softened up a little after I drove it around. Seems like it shifts harder when driving easy verses flooring it...still firm but not as harsh. Also seemed to correct my issues of searching for gears while cruising (it used to shift up & shift down constantly sometimes). Seems like gears hold longer for sure and manual shifting seems much better as well. I still need to do some more test driving and may need to adjust the TV cable a little but so far seems pretty darn nice compared to the mushy soft shifts it had before.

Thanks again to Bruce and all who posted

Update...drove the TTA to Ocean City MD for the weekend (Cruisin' OC 2007 Ocean City Special Event Productions ) from Eldersburg MD...about 150 miles. This was the 1st trip since the shift kit & pressure regulator install. I didn't notice on my test drives that the car wasn't shifting into O/D but when I got on the open road and I was seeing 3000 rpm at 60 mph I realized it wasn't in O/D. If I sped up a little some times it would shift into O/D but not very much...a whole tank of gas later I called PTS and talked to Bruce's techs and they seemed to think it was TV related but suggested I call Bruce in BG. I called him up and told him the symptoms and he right away said take 2 clicks out of the TV to soften the shift and shorten the duration and sure enough it did the trick. I wish I had called sooner it would have saved me a bunch of gas...my trip home I didn't even use 1/2 a tank. Once again I couldn't have asked for better service from Bruce and the rest of the guys at PTS...he made it a point to get me squared away even while running his booth at BG...Thanks a ton!!!

Now the car shifts awesome and wow did the car run good in OC cruising around all weekend. With the nice firm shifts and the new M/T DR's it hooked up and just jumped...I had a blast with several cars and even surprised a Viper GTS  I didn't think he was going to run but then after the light changed and we started to roll I think he heard my turbo start to spool through my open dump and he jumped 1st and then I nailed it and shot right up to his door and hung at his rear quarter for a nice 1/8 mile run before we let off. He then pulled off to turn and stuck his hand out his window with his thumb up  I wish I would have spooled it up and launched it from the light I'm pretty sure I would have jumped him out of the hole without a problem...maybe next time. A little alcohol and a 5 or 6 more pounds of boost I'm pretty sure he would have been looking at the back of my car.

Thanks again Bruce...you made my weekend a real blast!
