Needing a little help With 2001 ZX-7R Carburator Rebuilding

Here is the short version.
I had the Carbs serviced twice first time was supposed to be a full rebuild, the bike ran good for a few rides then it started going to crap.
So i had the carbs serviced again and they lasted one Ride about 40 miles.
The guy that serviced the bike also flushed the tank, replaced the petcock and the fuel line.

Moving forward
I just purchased a set of used carbs and would like to rebuild them my self.
If you guys have any info on rebuild kits and helpful tips on the rebuild process please post up.

Just take your time and be meticulous in your cleaning. Then do it again. And again one more time. Be careful not to gouge out any of your small passages. Also check out: http://www.zxforums.com/forums/ for a lot of information.

the ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight works very well for cleaning small carbs.

Use an air compressor to blow out all of your carb parts, including the air bleed holes...you can run small guitar strings (steel) through all air passages and bleed holes.......make sure they are SUPER clean this way and use an extra clean work bench area.....keep everything CLEAN during reassembly.

If you have any parts left over, buy a truck.

Similar but unrelated, I had a wood chipper that was very hard to start and had no torque to stay running under load. Took the carb apart and the bowl feed screw had crusty gunk in the main fuel feed needle. Cleaned that out and it ran like new afterward. I agree with everything above. Clean it and the ultrasonic sounds like a really good idea.
