How is this different from the Turbonetics F1 wheel?

The F1 Wheel is a Turbine Wheel.
This turbo has a new Billet Compressor Wheel.
I am sure Cal could tell you much more than I.

I definitely could be wrong on the turbo size as AMS calls it a GT850R turbo but compares it to the GT37 ( which is the 6776 ). It really didn't make any more power at 9500 but made more sooner everywhere below that point.

Fill us in on what wheels will be available, it looks like they might be going a different route if a 62 is the new small size so maybe it's a 66mm wheel AMS has?

Not a bad price considering the comp wheel is a new material. ;)

What kind of stall converter are we looking at? Im looking to replace my gt3255 with a DBB unit sometime soon, but I refuse to give up my street manners... I really prefer to keep the stall at 2800 or lower! Are these for me??

My 6776dbb loves my 2800 10'" converter. No spool up issues at all. I can fry the ET Streets from 35 mph and leave 30 ft of black marks.:)

Thanks John! I was hesitant to respond since I am not that familiar with Turbonetics turbos.

Currently the 62mm, 88mm, and 90mm are the only Billet wheels available. I would expect to see several others availble in the future.

PTE recommends a 3000 stall for the 62BB and 3200 for the non-BB. Of course, what some people consider too much lag is a matter of opinion. Especially, on street tires when you're traction limited. It's gonna spool better than the 6776 and, as you can see, some are getting away with even less stall.

AMS said they were going to be the only ones selling this specific turbo for about 3 weeks so it's probably a wheel that Martin at AMS tested for them.

After looking at the dyno chart it'd guess it's a billet 66mm wheel with the 65 boosted exhaust wheel since it only made a touch more total power than the old 6776 but spooled way faster.

No problem, I am glad that I could help.

In addition to the turbos mentioned I think the 114-115 Large Frame Turbo
also uses a Billet Compressor Wheel.

how does a billet wheel compare to a non billet wheel? What are the differences as far as performance gains?

You are correct. The current AVAILABLE billet wheels are 62mm, 88mm, 90mm, 94mm, and 114mm. I know of a couple of Buicks that were at BG that already had billet wheels ;)

Based upon my testing, at moderate boost levels, the back pressure is considerably less.

I am sorry to Dusty for the 94mm omission.

Why are these available in all the sizes I don't want...? I don't understand why there are not billet wheels available in 70, 72, or 76mm?

They are coming from what I heard.
It sounds like PTE wants to convert a majority of their
line to this type of wheel.
