I make near $120K my self, never will I pay more than $300 for a rim,I am by no means a cheap arse, but I am driving a Buick, not a ghetto Escalade...
I even refuse to buy the G Body parts rims.$$$$
I, like many others dont like to get bent over ,,if the price comes down I would love a set of 17" White....
Best of luck to you ,and thanks for always stepping up to the plate....

I didn't know the price, but for 600 a wheel I think I'll stick w/ GTAs.

If the wheels are worth it then there worth it, There are plenty of rims that run in that price range, having a light wheel with strength doesnt come cheap , The product specs should justify the cost. The problem I see may be that the Buick community may not need another expensive wheel or an expensive "GNX replica" ,With companies like Simmons and Fikse offering high quality products I think most of us are looking for a cheaper alternative that provides a look that was made for our cars.

18s

Its lookin like 18s are going to lose out. I for one think that gnx wheels in 18s would look sweet with a wide tire out back. 17s are too close to 16s for me to spend so much on wheels. If 18s are not made, I think alot of people will just stick with all of the replica wheels/ta wheels currently available. Not saying I can actually afford new wheels right now, but I may in the future. I need to get these Olds rally wheels off my GN one day. My .02

What happens 18mos from now if someone damages a wheel and needs a replacement? Will the company still have the tooling to turn another?

Yes that will not be a problem this is not a one time thing it will be on-going

Price will not come down, the parts and labor to build them cost more than $300 a wheel. Looks more and more like it will be 17/18. The GTA guys want 18's and 16" in a cheap price are already available, we will make a final decision soon

I understand price will not come down, but you do see the responce that has been posted towards the price.....IS it better to sell 150 sets of wheels at a lower price opposed to 25 sets at a higher price, anyone know ????

Depends on how much they cost. If you do cheap wheel in China that are cast, not tested and heavy for say 50 bucks a wheel maybe. But that is not what we are after, those are already out there. We want a top end wheel that looks true to the original with so current elements. Fully tested design heat treated and even in magnesium. You are just not getting anything even close to that in that price range Well we will decide on what to do maybe we need to rethink this project.
Mike

I don't think the price is oout of line at all. It's right there with all the other higher end wheel makers: HRE, Fikse, Forgeline, Simmons.

I voted for 18s :)

$600 per wheel  Now I can actually say I have know idea what Fiske and the other high end wheel makers prices are,but that too much money for any car PERIOD. JMO
I have had my American racing wheels that I paid $175 each at speeds up to 118 mph with no problem and I'm feel safe and sure that they aren't coming apart ! I see no problem with a vendor too make a good living either but I (ME)cannot justify spending that kind of money for a wheel on any car, then again I don't have to have the best things in life to be happy or impress anyone.
Mike if you ever decide to make el-cheapo rims for $50 for the poor book me for 5
I will use one for a spare. :)

Too expensive for what I can afford...

I just bought a very nice set of 16'' GTA black wheels with fair tires last week for a reasonable price...Altough I fully understand the cost of producing these 17'' or 18'' wheels it is still way too much FOR WHAT I CAN AFFORD... that's all...! It just makes me appreciate even more the great deal I got on the GTA's!...

Claude :)

Mike,
I voted 17's, and I think the price is more than fair. I loathe rims, I absolutely can't stand them. I've always thought that the original stylist that designed these cars knew much more about the overall look than any of us can by picking a rim out of a catalouge and bolting it on. So if you're willing to make a rim that looks stock, performs to todays standards, and can actually fit big brakes for a reasonable price I'm down.

That is exactly the idea

For the TTA, I'd REALLY like to find 18's. Deep dish look.

I'd absolutely be in for a close-to-stock looking rim set. PM me with any details.

If you want something new, fresh, do 17/18's. Guys will consider spending the extra $$ for a size and look they can not find anywhere else.

Considering these are GNX rims, and there were only 547 of those made, getting a new set of rims in a custom size for $2400 does not seem to far fetched especially since it sounds like these are NOT made in China.

I hope these sell for you Mike, this does sound a tad bit risky.

It would not be the first risky thing we tried. 17/18 is the winner. More tires and we can always sell them to the f body guys too since they had the same wheel (GTA) Tooling is in process. Hoops are on order I am sure it will be a while before we see a finished wheel but you will se them here first!
