dude. i live in detroit, and theres STILL people that walk up, and ask what sort of motor came in those things. In fact, this is quite pathetic but, was sittin in the vfw hall, and this guy, was talkin about em, and WORKED for GM during that era, and thought they started to intercool them in 85, and also thought the gnx was twin turboed. and he WORKED for gm in the 80's lol.
Theres a LOT of ignorant people around the world bro. if it aint a fox body (gm and ford) they dont want anything to do with it..

I do get it in the street with the not hardcore racers crowed.
Well I guess it’s the same when I see an import if it’s not an RX7, Supra, NSX or 300Z I don't even acknowledge their presence.
Anyway I hope to see some of the 9 second Buicks kick a$$ at the next pinks event.
And from what I have herd and we all know the payout alone should get some of these guys going. $1000.00 for the top eight and 10K for the winner WOW
I would love to see any turbo Buick or hybreed with a 109 block with all the fancy stuff the venders here and at T6P sell.:wink:
I mean you have a strocker crank kit, slap it in and show how good it works
You have a bigg Dollar twin turbo kit make me want to stop paying my mortgage just to buy that kit
You have the best IC (even blessed by God) it better be in your car
Your alcohol kit is the best on the market run it
You make the best torque converter on the planet let’s break a built 12 bolt rear after you get the W
Your turbo spools faster then his it better because the other guy has a big built V8 with LOTS OF N.O.
You guys get my point, C-MON don’t talk about showing them but put them in their place.
The only way I want a 109 fitted car to loose is by braking time that’s final. No more BS please. :biggrin:

Does anyone know what happened to the Fox-body Mustang that Ryan ran to get into the top 16? The lights show the Mustang winning at the end, his team cheers, and they interview the Mustang driver at the end of the run. Next thing you know, they're showing Ryan in the top 16 and competing for a spot in the top 8?

No. Watch and listen closely when they first start talking about John's car..your eyes could be fooling you. Its reminds me of that thread, "whats the dumbest thing people have said to you commenting on your car" thing I had to verify with John cause I couldn't beleive it when I saw it...I was like..No they didn't just do that...

Sorry to chime into this thread so late, but I want to congratulate John on his efforts on the Pinks Heads up show! I think you could have taken the 10K if it wasn't for the transbrake issue in the 3rd round. We all cheered every round you won and most people were laughing at the Mopar that broke (leaked tranny or engine oil) on the starting line. But that's racing for ya.

BTW. your car looks great on TV!!!!

hehe...ain't that something!! I thought when I saw it Thurs night that the hood was a bit big...then the second time I saw it, I knew it didn't sound right... I was almost embarassed to ask because its so faint, then John mentioned something about a mcss mistake on our local club but it was not clear what it was..so I had to ask him if my eyes and ears were deciving me

Thanks for the reviews gents. Makes me proud to have come so far with my car. Chris, you know.. it would have neat to get the camera guys' comments on tape.. I "heard" that one of them said, "Wow, an asian driving a Buick, that'll be good TV."
The guy in the Mopar actually dropped a starter or exhaust pipe is what it looked like for me. I just remember looking over after they shut him down and couldn't figure out that was laying on the ground beneath his car.
Ya'll just don't know how much of a heart breaker it was for me to lose to myself on that race. I only had the transbrake for the 2nd weekend, and am usually good under pressure.
Anyway - I'm just appreciative of all the camaraderie this has brung, seems like.

John your aok in my book

I had that entire week off for thanksgiving, when i got back to work the following monday.. Everyone at work was busting me below the belt.

They all thought the "GN" should have won and even today every word out of their mouths was trans brake this and trans brake that... HA, HA HA,

It was all in good taste, just ribbing me cause i drive a 87 turbo regal everyday to work. Its kinda fast!

The guys LOVED to watch your car, even thou they hate my silver car, they thought yours would have gone allllllll the way to the winner position.

I am only a small portion of the amount of people who would have loved to see you win..

They all thought you took it well, and were really rooting for you to hit the big one....
