Joey Perrotta did an outstanding job on this car. I met Joey at Kirban's open house a couple years ago. I chewed his ass out because he didn't bring the car. Some day, I will see this thing in person.

Yea, I agree. I deserved a beating for not driving this thing down to Kirban's.

Almost every year, I'm always getting involved in some silly little Winter project that drags way on into Spring. Kirban has his open house to damned early for my hap-hazard lifestyle to catch up before April. The same crap happened this year also. However, at least this year's Winter project has helped alleviate most of my oil seepage issues. I still get a little. But it's almost undetectable.

Which brings me to this conclusion.................

I'm concerned that the Drip-Lip may not easily be adapted to my engine/tranny (stage motor, sheet metal oil pan, TH400). I refuse to chop-up such a beautiful product just to get it to fit. Don't get me wrong! I'm going to look it over closely because I could still use it. But unless it can be used with minimal modification, It just wouldn't be fair to someone who really needs it. I would never consider selling it. I have never made, or may ever intend to make a single penny on anything within the TR community.

I have a dear friend who has stuck with me when things were real tough. Unfortunately, he recently discovered he hurt his motor and will have to pull it out and go through it again. He is currently away on business and is likely to not have his ride back together again before the season is up. He never posts but certainly may be reading this. If I can't use it, it will be his.

Mike, I can't even believe you do this stuff! Your are some character! One of a kind! Thank you a million times.

Guys, I couldn't have ever owned and been enthusiastic about the same car for 25 years without people like "The Fool!"
If it wasn't for this kind of heart, I would have gotten rid of this money pit 24 years ago!

The free time and funds saved if we didn’t do what we do.

I try not to think about it. But for me it’s stress relief and satisfaction , the money is kind of secondary at this point. I’ve had this car since 93 an have gone thru damn near every nut and bolt on it .

Working on it without the old lady or kid bs, just solid alone time with a project every now and then keeps me and that car pretty damn happy

Same here. I have broken everything there is to break of these cars. I give back like I do, because people on this site took the time to help me out first. That is why I did not do this contest on FB. I did it here.

First of all. I'm going to eliminate one...

Brent (Boost 231) is a close friend of mine. He helps run the Bates Nut Farm car show and he tunes my car. he's going to have to buy me lunch and I'll give him a CF Drip-Lip. Note: His car is more than qualified to win this thing. He and Nick Micale spent years leaving no stone unturned. I have seen it in person. The photos don't do it justice. Thank you for all you do for this Turbo Buick community sir.


Mark Hueffman / TR Customs Parts is a long time supporting vendor on this site and I've got tons of his stuff on my car. I've been drooling over his GN for decades. I hope to get to see it some time.

Today's new cars have trim panels that wrap under the body's sheet metal to conceal the lower frame rails.

When I used to stand back and look at my Buick's profile it drove me nuts that I had to look at that ugly frame rail and it forced me to bust out the spray paint and cardboard to throw a little black satin on it to keep it looking fresh.

I got sick of doing it.

So I fabbed up some trim strips using flexible vinyl base.

Sounds cheesy but I took my time and did it right. It almost looks like a subtle continuation of the front air damn all around the car. I even tapered it right to the rear bumper to hide the crimp and blend it directly into the bumper filler. A little Armor-All every now and then and it reads like a new car.

Hardly noticeable, but it makes for a clean finish. Everyone who sees it asks me where they could get those pieces.

Man, I’m so glad you said that! As I feel much better knowing that I’m not the only one who frets over stuff like that! In that, this has been a pet peeve of mine for years! Only I just keep cleaning / spraying the frame rails as need be! So, I’d say that this is a Killer idea here that would absolutely sell!! (Well, at least to two of us anyways?). Lol!!

No doubt huh? That’s not an engine bay at all! As it much more resembles an Art Gallery than it does an engine bay, right? I bet if you were to google, “places of worship” that NY Twin’s engine bay images would come up!

SpoolFool, you’ve yet to make a bad product! I still loved the fender savers (bondo disclaimer is all that was needed there)! But, Inner fenders, and under carriage trim pieces get my vote.

I'll be honest, I'm very interested in the under carriage frame rail covers / trim pieces. I too have always preferred the smoothed look vs the unsightly and rusty frame rails glaring back at me. NY's solution looks perfect IMO. Both side and back.

Since we're talking about new product ideals, here's one more to the list.
How about a properly fitting, full a-pillar gauge pod? Options for single, dual and triple 2 1/16" gauges. I've run Lotek's for years, but, as others have said, they don't fit worth a dern. Looks good on the inside, but the gap on the outside of the pillar is terrible, as well as the bolt holes not lining up.
