the car i bought has no positive traction. i jacked it up and turned the rear tires and one moved one direction and the other the opposite direction. i thought they had a postive rearend. any thoughts

Have to look at tag on bottom side of trunk. That is your Option tag for your car. See if you have one that says G80.

its not the stock trunk, so im out of luck there, did they not all come with positive unit

If you are wanting to do a posy I would go with a Detroit locker for the money. Right at $400 and ether way you will have to set up the rear end.

the non posi ones had aluminum drums ... my first mod was an eaton posi ... whats a used one go for ? I just upgraded splines an axles

thanks. do you know why my tranny shifts out very late in normal driving conditions? its screaming before it shifts. i just bought this car

My 85 Does not have factory posi either. I do want to ad it and some 411 gears also. :)

from what ive read turbo cars need longer gears = a load ... the 4.11's will slow u down

Really???, Need to do a little research I guess. I want it to be a stoplight to stoplight kinda car.

Stock gear ration is good well into the 10s.
My T did not have posi. Added an Eaton unit. Nice and tight. No issues with that.

for stop light to stoplight get a TE-60 an a 3200 stall ... i went 7.50's an a lil faster but fell on its face after 1/8 stock longblock

I would got with a 6262 with some 60 or 80lb injectors awesome on the street. Mine has almost no turbo lag but I do have a 3200 stall.
