Hi Kevin,

Mine touches the hood liner too! I thought it was because I have the HR PartsNstuff Polyurethane Motor Mounts....but I guess they all must hit!

It's a great intercooler in all other aspects.

I've just accepted the fact that I have a nice shiny polished area on my up pipe + a custom contour imprint of my up pipe on my hood liner.

Thanks but not acceptable for me,these hood liners will be as much as the intercooler soon and mine is pristine.I guess I will be buying onother intercooler if that is the case. Thanks Dave

Perfect, this is a low mileage car and no reason for this POS not to fit.The problem is the either the intercooler neck or the up pipe is about 1/4 of an inch too high.I have received a few PM,s and this is normal:rolleyes: I just can't believe this is acceptable, heck I can buy off shore parts and modify them and I even expect it:(

Kevin, Iv'e installed 5 of those intercoolers here for guys and every damn one of them does it. Two of the guys are like you and couldn't live with it so I installed new 2 &1/2 in. up pipes for them. No more rub with the smaller pipe.

Mine rubs a little , too.

I thought it was due to the intake/throttle body spacer.

Problem solved!
Thats what I'd do if it bothered me that much and the 3" pipe is not going to make your car any faster. Yeah, I know you paid $xxx.xx and it should this and they should that.... Sorry, Precision Turbo made a revision on the mounts years after it came out. I don't see them changing the pipe because todays society would go after them for replacement headliners that cost more than the intercooler.

_Just cut the needed amount off of the lower end of the up pipe and re bead it. If you can't find anyone local to do it, drop me a pm and I can set you up. I've also fabbed new mounting brackets to cure this and other issues. I understand your frustration.

This is exactly what I was thinking;) Now if my buddy at the Hot Rod shop would answer his phone on Sunday morning I could bring him a coffee and be done in 20 min:rolleyes:Thanks for the input,I never thought of the smaller pipe

Sorry cannot do,my stuff has to be right or be goneo_OI will find a fix or buy another intercooler that is the way this game is played.BUT I will post my findings when I figure it out:D

hello; Mine rubbs a bit also and if I had a pristine hoodliner I'd address the problem. TurboFab has the correction. I believe shortening the up would correct the issue. I like the little ridge on the pipe and if TurboFab can recreate that I'd do it.
