the new turbos look and sound great on paper but i have seen guys with the best parts money can buy and go slow and then there are guys with half the mods and go faster. ITS NOT THE PARTS ITS THE TUNE!

But hey i have a 70gtq on my car it runs 10.58@128-10.86@126 on mickeys with 21 psi if you would like to send me a new BBB replacement I would be happy to track test it and I have a dyno 5 miles from my house if you would like a dyno test. we have a track rental oct 23 I could have video footage also.

But I still think its the tune not the turbo.

But I still think its the tune not the turbo.

Aint that the truth. The only really magical part ive seen in the last 10 years is the PTC 9.5" converter. It sure is nice to be able to take a turbo a lot further on a small compressor. 3 bolt housing still killing the potential on these small turbos though.

The 6776 with the cast 67 wheel, was rated at 780 hp.
It would fall between the 6365 and the 6765 as far as hp is concerned.

how about as far as spool goes?

How do you think spool up is between the old school 6776 dbb and the newer 6765 -b ??
would the 6265 be that much faster to spool for alower boost range?

When/ if running only lower boost ( ~15 psi) how would these turbos compare ???

I am trying to gauge the difference b/w the 6776 dbb and say something like the 6262-b ....

I will be looking for solid low/midrange flow

great info in this thread
thanks!

why is there such a large price increase going from the 6765 @ $1079 to the 6768 (67hpq) @ $1439 seems out of proportion for the hp increase ? am I missing something ?

well, i just ordered mine(6262dbb), it'll be here in 2-3 weeks , can't wait, anyone interested in a te-44 ( less than 800 miles, down the track maybe 7-8 max) as soon as i remove the turbo of my car i will post some pics up, and price very soon.

Turbine wheel difference between the 6765 and the 6768 is the main reason behind the price difference. BTW, interesting real world pricing you posted there.

Officially, all of the New School turbos in this list, fall under the HP Technology series turbos. Including the new Billet compressor wheel and air cooled dual ball bearing turbos. Boosted term is no more.

John is right about his hp guess on the 6765E. I would say it would be in the 850-860 range. Compressor covers help lower charge temps at really high boost levels. But you don't really see this until you're up in the 28+ psi range.

Just remember everyone, the horsepower ratings are very conservative on all of the new HP Technology series turbos. ;)

thanx for responding,Im mostly going to drive it on the street .But i also want to bring it to the track 4 times a year.I also want to run 11's.I have a set of ported stock heads going on it.If i get the money up also alky. thanx joe

It's either:
1. You're still installing the turbo
2. You were let down with the results and don't wanna post.

Are there any compressor maps available for these billet turbos?
Specifically the:

5857
6057
6262

Thanks.

There are currently no compressor maps available for any of the Precision HP series or Billet series compressor wheels. We do not follow the practice of publishing compressor maps for our wheels.

You have to remember, a compressor map is just a rough guesstimate of what a certain compressor wheel can flow. This can be based on many variables at the time that the wheel was tested. These maps can dramatically change if the real world operating conditions change. Especially when you factor in the many different compressor cover options and turbine wheel options. Now you throw in the many different turbine housing options, as well as ambient conditions and the compressor map can vary dramatically. We prefer to rate our turbos hp levels based off of real world testing results from our many vendors and customers. Whether that be on a chassis dyno, or at the drag strip.

In my personal opinion, MPH at the drag strip is the true indicator of real world hp, as ET can vary dramatically with traction conditions.
Hope some of this helps.

Thanks for the reply Patrick.

Since the billet wheels are more efficient then the cast ones would you expect the billet compressor maps to have a wider (horizontal) area of efficiency or taller (vertical) or both? Just trying to get my head around the advantages of the billet wheels since they can move more air.

Honestly, the questions you are asking are getting into proprietary information that I can not answer. I can tell you, that our new wheel designs, incorporate technology and aerodynamics, that have never been used with any of our competitors compressor wheel designs. We have a very talented in house engineer, (Dan B.) who has worked very hard and poured many hours into these new designs.

In short, it's not the material used, it's the aerodynamics employed in the design.

Patrick a few question for you sir ....
To bad we don't have you in the Supra community to help us out with question on Precision turbo performance and specs.
I really enjoy all of your post here in turbobuick.

What is the difference in HP and spool between the Billet 71HPQ, Billet 71HPS and the Billet HP4271 turbo?

I really like the 6765 billet turbo but I think it will be to small for my goals do to my 4L80E tranny robbed a lot of HP on their way to the wheels :).

I use to have a old 71GTQ with the old kkk billet wheel and love the thing on the street but the car need it more power on the track and went to big on my last turbo selection and now I am hating life.

Thanks in advance.

Jose

How many of you are runnen the 71 Billet HPS (Not HPQ) and what is the power difference between the two?

I see the pic of the 76mm listed here in Billet but dont see that as an option on the PTE list posted by patrick. What am I missing here?:confused: Is the 76mm not available with an HPQ or HPS? Is that the difference?
