Would like to get some opinions on this turbo/converter combo. I have the basic supporting mods for this combo. That in the form of 60# injectors,tt 6.1 chip and upgraded fuel system including pump and adj regulator. Last of all scanmaster and powerlogger w/PLX wb for tuning. I just wanted to make sure this was going in the right direction. Just trying to build a fun street car/daily driver. Alky and power plate being the very next upgrade.

That should spool extremely fast. The turbine is good to about 55lbs/min so about 121mph. There is nothing posted about the 58 wheel. Probably at least as good as the t04e 60 it replaces and the t04e 60 is good to about 53lbs/min.

Dude you always seem to answer my posts. You are the man. Thats good to hear as these are inbound as I type. I'm no veteran as most off the guys are on here but I will post up some feedback after my install. I have a lot of other things to attend to in the engine bay by the way of alum radiator, oil catch can(oil leaks) and well most everything! Like I said really going for just a fun street car so not sure on the alky yet. Does anyone find it an inconvenience?

Get Julio's alky kit and you will happy....No inconviences really and if you get your TT chip burnt for alky the tune will be in the ball park.....

That is basically my combo - I think this is really a good combo for a street car.

Im not really worried about the tuning side. I was wondering if it gets to be aggrivating to guys that actually drive thier cars a lot on the street. You know having to keep the alky topped off.

I think you'll have a blast once you get alchy installed but you won't have any more fun than the stock turbo at lower boost settings until you do. If it's going to be a while until you can afford the alchy then I would not get the turbo - I would get the alchy first and crank up the boost on the stock turbo. Then once the funds are there go for the new turbo and crank up the boost some more.

I just did a review on the 5831 that you can read here and my combo is also on alchy:

X2, the stock turbo is good up to about 22lbs,I read the 5831 doesn't start to really come alive until 25-27lbs range.

I buy 5 gallons of alky per yr. on average every Spring, $3/ gallon. It's the best horsepower/dollar for performance gain that I ever did. It's at about that horsepower level that the stock tranny starts having trouble, just so you know.
I don't find it a pain to add alky to the alky tank, it all depends how much your in the boost, personally not that much on the street and when I do go WOT it's for maybe 3 seconds max with the traffic around here. When I go to the track, I just fill the tank before I go and I'm good for the night, refill it in the morning.
